AUTOPSY RESULTS SHOW HOMICIDES
The autopsies of a Ripley County couple, who were previously believed to have died in a house fire in June, show they were both shot to death. The bodies of Loyd and Irene Piatt were exhumed Thursday, after authorities began to see similarities between their deaths and those in the case of another murdered Ripley County couple.
Authorities arrested and charged David Youngblood, Melissa Youngblood, Chantale Youngblood and Keith Boyles in connection with the July 11th murder of Edgar Atkinson and Bonnie Chase and the arson of their home. During the investigation, police discovered that David Youngblood was the nephew of Loyd Piatt.
The investigation continues. The Youngbloods and Boyles have not been charged in connection with the Piatts deaths at this time.
