ALMOST 700 JOBS TO BE LOST WITH CLOSURE OF NORTHEAST ARKANSAS PLANT

Almost 700 people will be impacted with the closure of a Northeast Arkansas plant.

Allison Hestand with the Paragould Chamber of Commerce has confirmed to KWOC News that they received notice Tuesday that the Tenneco Plant in Paragould would be closing and that 687 individuals would ultimately be affected.

Hestand says that a Greene County Employers Job Fair has been scheduled for 1 to 4 pm on March 11th at the Paragould Community Center to assist in job relocation efforts for these employees.

BUTLER COUNTY EMS DONATES AMBULANCE TO THREE RIVERS COLLEGE

Emergency Medical Services students at Three Rivers College will have new equipment to help their studies thanks to a donation from an area business.

According to school officials, Three Rivers College recently received an ambulance donation from Butler County EMS to aid current and future students.

The ambulance, a 2017 Ford Transit-250, will be stocked and ready for spring 2025 students taking Emergency Medical Services classes related to Paramedic, EMT, Fire Science, and other emergency classes at Three Rivers.

The college will also have the ambulance wrapped in a design unique to the College to distinguish it as a training vehicle.

Butler County EMS Director David Ross says that “Butler County EMS is excited to partner with TRC to provide equipment that can improve training and quality of the EMS program graduates.”

THREE DAY BLOOD DRIVE BEGINS TODAY IN POPLAR BLUFF

The American Red Cross is in desperate need of blood donors and will be starting a three day blood drive today in Poplar Bluff.

A Blood Drive will be set up from 1 to 6 pm both today and Friday at the American Legion Post 153 on Kanell Boulevard. Donations will also be taken at the site from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm on Saturday.

According to the Red Cross, the recent winter weather has caused the cancelation of more than 300 blood drives and the loss of over 8000 units of blood collected.

FEED AND SEED EVENT SCHEDULED FOR TODAY

New Day Ministry in Poplar Bluff will be hosting a feed and seed event today.

The event is from 3 to 5 pm and is first come, first serve, with packs limited to one per household.

ROAD CLOSURE PLANNED FOR TODAY IN THE QULIN AREA

Route CC in Butler County will be closed today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews replace a culvert under the roadway.

The closure will be located between Route 53 and County Road 675 near Qulin.

Weather permitting, work will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

MAINTENANCE CREWS TO CAUSE ROAD DELAYS TODAY ON ROUTE 114 IN STODDARD COUNTY

Route 114 in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform bridge maintenance.

The section of roadway being reduced is located near Grayridge between Route 60 and County Road 787.

Work will take place today through 2 p.m.
