POPLAR BLUFF MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY OVER THE WEEKEND ON DRUG AND FLEEING CHARGES
Authorities say a Poplar Bluff man is facing drug and fleeing charges following his weekend arrest in Carter County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 28 year old Justin Nance was taken into custody Saturday on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.
Nance is also facing charges of resisting arrest by fleeing and driving while revoked.
TEXAS MAN FACING FELONY DRUG CHARGE OUT OF WAYNE COUNTY A Texas man was taken into custody last week in Wayne County on a drug charge.
According to the Highway Patrol, 25 year old Jordan Vanauken, of Orange, Texas, was arrested on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance - hydrocodone.
Vanauken is also facing charges of possession of up to 35 grams of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
ST. FRANCIS RIVER IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI AND NORTHEAST ARKANSAS UNDER FLOOD WARNING A flood warning is currently in effect for the St. Francis River in Southeast Missouri and Northeast Arkansas until around 10 pm Tuesday.
As of 4 am this morning the river stage for the St. Francis river was at 23.9 feet at St. Francis, Arkansas. The National Weather Service says that some minor flooding is occurring with additional minor flooding in the forecast.
Motorists are reminded to not drive through flooded areas. If you come upon a flooded road you should turn around.
SIKESTON MAN ARRESTED ON FORGERY CHARGE IN STODDARD COUNTY A Sikeston man is facing a forgery charge following his arrest last week in Stoddard County.
According to authorities, 25 year old Melvin Brown was arrested on multiple charges including forgery, speeding, and driving while revoked.
Brown also reportedly had a felony probation warrant out of Craighead County, Arkansas.
TENNESSEE MAN ARRESTED IN STODDARD COUNTY ON BURGLARY WARRANT A Tennessee man has been arrested in Stoddard County on a burglary warrant.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 18 year old Michael Dylan Kaiser, of Dixon, Tennessee, was recently arrested on a warrant for 2nd degree forced burglary.
Kaiser’s bond was set at $3,500.
TODAY IS THE DEADLINE TO REGISTER FOR YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID PROGRAM Today is the deadline to register for a free course to help teach individuals how to help a youth in crisis or experiencing a mental health or substance misuse.
The Youth Mental Health First Aid program, provided by the University of Missouri Extension, introduces participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health in adolescents.
The course is scheduled for 8:30 am to 5 pm on Thursday, December 3rd at First Presbyterian Church in Poplar Bluff.
