Butler County Health Department Confirms 24th Positive Case of COVID-19; 12 Patients have Recovered

Officials with the Butler County Health Department tell KWOC News, they have confirmed an additional case of COVID-19.

Local Health Department staff will be monitoring the case and additional follow up contacts will be done. They have already received a list of people from the patients’ contacts.

This patient is self-quarantining at their homes, according to health officials. No other information will be released about the two patients.

The health department reports there are 24 positive cases of COVID-19 in Butler County. Of those 24 cases, 12 have recovered, 2 are hospitalized, 14 are male, and 10 are female. 10 cases are still pending at this time.

The Butler County Health Department is working with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and the CDC, to identify and contact people who may have come in contact with the individual, while they were infectious and will monitor them for fever and respiratory symptoms.

As of 11 AM on Thursday, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reports there are 6,137 cases and 208 deaths in the state.
