MORE CASES OF COVID-19 REPORTED ACROSS MISSOURI; STATE TOTAL NOW OVER 88,000

More cases of the coronavirus were reported across Missouri, while the state’s total has risen past 88,000.

According to the Butler County Health Department, seven new cases were reported on Thursday, bringing the County’s total to 410 cases. Of them, 354 have recovered, 4 are hospitalized, and 46 are still under quarantine.

Stoddard County also saw seven additional cases, making the total in the County 338, 50 of which are currently active, with 278 having recovered.

Meanwhile, New Madrid County has confirmed ten additional cases, making the County’s total 419. Three more deaths were also reported, that were caused by COVID-19. 61 of the current patients are active, while 358 are out of quarantine.

In Missouri, as of Thursday, there are now a total of 88,610 cases in the state, while 1,545 deaths have been directly linked to the disease.

Anyone showing symptoms of the virus, including persistent coughing, shortness of breath, or fever, are being asked to contact your primary healthcare provider before visiting any hospital or emergency rooms.

DRIVER EXAMINATION STATIONS ACROSS MISSOURI TO CLOSE FOR LABOR DAY

Driver examination stations across the state will be closed in observance of the upcoming holiday.

Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol report that all driver examination stations in Missouri will be closed all day Monday during the Labor Day celebration.

Examination stations will resume normal operations on Tuesday.

MAN ARRESTED IN STODDARD COUNTY FOR THEFT OF WEAPONRY

A man was taken into custody in Stoddard County on theft charges for stolen weaponry on Thursday.

Officials with the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department tell KWOC News that 26 year old Kile Pennington, of Essex, was booked on stealing – firearm, explosive weapon/ammonium nitrate, as well as a charge on parole violation.

He was transported to the Stoddard County Jail following his arrest, with no bond.

ROADWAY IN RIPLEY COUNTY SCHEDULED TO CLOSE DURING REPAIRS

A roadway in Ripley County will be closed while undergoing pavement repairs.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, a section of Route KK, between Route H and Route N, will be closed while MODOT crews perform pavement repairs on the roadway.

The work is set to begin on Tuesday at 7 am, and is expected to be completed by Thursday.

DRIVER INJURED FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH IN RIPLEY COUNTY

A driver suffered moderate injuries following a vehicle crash in Ripley County on Thursday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened on Missouri 21, north of Doniphan, where a vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Following the crash, the driver was transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital for treatment.

PIEDMONT WOMAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN WAYNE COUNTY ON DRUG POSSESSION CHARGE

A Piedmont woman was arrested in Wayne County on Wednesday on a drug possession charge.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, 39 year old Angelynn Bohannan was charged with a felony Wayne County warrant on amphetamine possession.

Following her arrest, she was transported to the Wayne County Jail.
