WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR MISSOURI BOOTHEEL
A winter storm warning remains in effect for the Missouri Bootheel and Northeast Arkansas through this evening.
According to the National Weather Service, New Madrid, Dunklin and Pemiscot Counties in Missouri along with Clay and Greene Counties in Arkansas could see heavy mixed precipitation through 6 pm this evening.
A winter weather advisory is also in effect for Butler, Stoddard, Ripley and Scott counties in Southeast Missouri through 6 pm tonight.
Officials say residents should plan on slippery road conditions that could impact the morning commute.

STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARED IN CORNING DUE TO BUSTED WATER MAIN
A State of Emergency was declared yesterday in Corning.
According to Clay County Sheriff Terry Miller, the state of emergency was due to a busted water main. The Sheriff’s Department and Corning Police Department were working together to get bottled water distributed.
2000 gallons of fresh water was also delivered to Corning from Greene County.
DEXTER MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY ON RAPE CHARGE
Authorities in Stoddard County have arrested an area man on a rape charge.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 28 year old Patrick Varner, of Dexter was recently taken into custody on charges of Rape or Attempted Rape – 1st degree and Statutory Rape 2nd degree.
Officials say that no bond was set.
INMATE WHO WALKED AWAY FROM WORK RELEASE IS BACK IN CUSTODY
An inmate who escaped over the weekend is back in custody.
On Wednesday, Greene County Sheriff Steve Franks announced that 19 year old Joseph Bridges had walked away from a work release on Sunday.
According to Franks, Bridges was quickly apprehended and is now facing a charge of felony escape.
MISSOURI DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION RELEASES TIPS FOR SHOVELING YOUR DRIVEWAY
With the winter weather coming to an end today, the Missouri Department of Transportation has released some advice for people who will be shoveling snow from your driveway.
One of the main tips was to shovel snow on the shoulder to the left of your driveway as you are facing the street. This will help stop snow plows from pushing snow back into your driveway, making you have to shovel snow again.
Everyone is also being asked to shovel snow away from the area around fire hydrants. This is in case there is a fire emergency in your area and fire crews need to find and access the hydrant quickly.
RUSH LIMBAUGH DIES AT THE AGE OF 70
Famous talk radio host Rush Limbaugh has died.
The Cape Girardeau native died Wednesday at the age of 70, a year after announcing that he had Stage Four lung cancer.
His three-hour weekday radio show is broadcast on nearly 600 stations across the United States.
Donald Trump awarded Limbaugh the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2020, the nation's highest civilian honor.
