FREE MEDICAL CLINIC TO BE OFFERED IN POPLAR BLUFF
A free medical clinic will be offered in Poplar Bluff this weekend.
Footsteps Medical Missions will be presenting the clinic from 8 am to 4 pm on Saturday, October 2nd at the Black River Coliseum.
Services provided will include medical services, diabetic foot care, wound care, vision, cardiology, and more.
If you want to attend, you are encouraged to pre-register at FootstepsMedicalMissions.org. Walk-ins will also be welcome.
AREA WOMAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN WEEKEND WRECK
An area woman was injured over the weekend in a wreck near Doniphan.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 65 year old Patricia Moman, of Doniphan, was pulling into a driveway when her vehicle was struck by a vehicle that was attempting to pass another vehicle on Highway 142 in Ripley County.
Moman suffered serious injuries in the wreck and was transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital. No injuries were reported for the driver of the vehicle that struck her vehicle.
VISITS TO RESUME AT MISSOURI DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FACILITIES
Visits are set to resume this week for offenders in Missouri Department of Corrections facilities.
According to the Missouri Department of Corrections, visiting for all offenders in MDC facilities, regardless of vaccination status, will begin on October 1st.
There will be restrictions in place including everyone having to wear masks and all visits must be scheduled in advance.
The department does not require visitors to be vaccinated. However, they are strongly encouraging all visitors to be vaccinated before visiting to help protect their loved ones and other members of the incarcerated population.

VEHICLE STRIKES BRIDGE ON INTERSTATE 55 IN NEW MADRID COUNTY
A vehicle struck a bridge early Monday morning in Southeast Missouri.
Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that 45 year old Timothy Walton, of Olive Branch, Mississippi, was driving on Interstate 55, in New Madrid County, when his vehicle ran off the left side of the road and struck a bridge pier.
Walton suffered serious injuries and was flown to a St. Louis hospital.
Officials say that one bridge pier was destroyed in the wreck, a second pier was damaged, and 20 feet of guard rail was also destroyed.
ROADSIDE WORK SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEK IN DEXTER
Business U.S. 60 in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane for part of this week as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform roadside work.
The section of roadway to be reduced is located from North Sassafrass Street to North Catapla Street in Dexter.
Weather permitting, work will take place from 8 am to 3:30 pm daily through Thursday.
PAVEMENT REPAIRS TO CAUSE DELAYS IN DUNKLIN COUNTY
Route MM in Dunklin County will be reduced this week so crews with the Missouri Department of Transportation can perform pavement repairs.
According to officials, the work zone will be located from Route J to County Road 692.
Weather permitting, work will take place today and tomorrow from 8 am to 4 pm each day.
