FOUR PEOPLE KILLED IN TWO VEHICLE CRASH

Four people were killed in a crash Tuesday afternoon in Southeast Missouri.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly after 4:30 pm Tuesday on Route U near New Madrid, when a 41 year old driver lost control of his vehicle, crossed the centerline, and struck another vehicle.

The driver of the first vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, as were two young passengers in his vehicle. The 17 year old driver of the second vehicle was also killed in the crash.

All four people involved were from Lilbourn.

RIVER RADIO BLOOD DRIVE SCHEDULED FOR NEXT WEEK

Reservations are now being accepted for the next River Radio Blood Drive in Poplar Bluff.

The Blood Drive has been scheduled for noon to 5 pm on Friday, December 27th, at Larry Hillis Dodge on North Westwood Boulevard.

AREA LAW ENFORCEMENT PARTICIPATING IN DRIVE SOBER OR GET PULLED OVER CAMPAIGN

Area law enforcement agencies are reminding everyone to not drink and drive while celebrating the holidays.

Law enforcement agencies across Missouri and Arkansas are participating in a Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement period through January 1st.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 1,062 people were killed in motor vehicle crashes that involved an alcohol-impaired driver in December of 2022.

Drivers should be safe during the holidays by planning ahead if they intend to drink. Drivers should secure a designated sober driver or call a taxi or rideshare for a sober ride home.

KENNETT 2ND ANNUAL COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS DINNER TO BE HELD ON CHRISTMAS EVE

Kennett residents will have the opportunity for a free Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve.

The Kennett 2nd Annual Community Christmas Dinner will be held from 11 am to 2 pm on Tuesday, December 24th.

The dinner is free to attend at the American Legion Building in Kennett.

BURGLARY INVESTIGATION LEADS TO ARREST OF PARMA MAN

A burglary investigation in Southeast Missouri has led to the arrest of a Parma man.

According to the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department, on December 14th, deputies responded to a residence on Dale Street in Parma after a caller reported that someone had entered the home and stolen items.

The investigation identified a suspect as 30 year old Tevin Hill, who was taken into custody the next day.

Hill has been charged with burglary 2nd degree and felony stealing.

Officials say that most of the stolen property has been returned to the owner.

FEED AND SEED EVENT SCHEDULED FOR TODAY

New Day Ministry in Poplar Bluff will be hosting a feed and seed event today.

The event is from 3 to 5 pm and is first come, first serve, with packs limited to one per household.
