MAYNARD MAN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER
A Maynard, Arkansas man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly threatening to shoot his wife’s son.
According to authorities, John Arnold is facing multiple charges including first degree attempted murder, aggravated assault, third degree domestic battering, and terroristic threatening.
During the incident, Arnold is alleged to have hit his wife, grabbed her son by the neck and pointed a gun at both of them.
JONESBORO MAN FACING CHARGE OF COMPUTER CHILD PORNOGRAPHY
A Jonesboro man has been taken into custody after allegedly being caught arranging to have sexual intercourse with a juvenile.
According to KAIT, 23 year old Wesley Alexander Hull had a Facebook conversation with a girl that allegedly contained sexually explicit messages. He also reportedly deleted nude photos of the girl, who he said was about 16 years old, and later admitted to having sex with her.
Hull has been charged with computer child pornography and failure to comply with sex offender reporting requirements.
JONESBORO MAN ARRESTED AFTER STABBING INCIDENT
A Northeast Arkansas man is facing multiple charges in connection to a reported stabbing.
According to authorities, a woman was stabbed on Wednesday. One man has been arrested, 53 year old Charles Lavell Bausley, of Jonesboro.
Bausley is facing charges of aggravated assault, first degree battery, and carrying a weapon.
The condition of the victim was not available.
TWO ARRESTED IN BUTLER COUNTY ON METH CHARGE
Two people were arrested Thursday morning in Butler County on drug charges.
According to the Highway Patrol, 46 year old Brian O. Brittain, of Grandin, and 29 year old Brenda S. Burks, of Poplar Bluff, were arrested at 10:30 am Thursday morning.
They are each facing a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
WILLIAMSVILLE MAN ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE
A Williamsville man is facing a felony meth charge following his arrest on Thursday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 47 year old Carl E. Randall has been charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.
Randall is also facing charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, and no seat belt.
CHILD SUMMER READING PROGRAM STARTS NEXT WEEK AT POPLAR BLUFF LIBRARY
Science is the theme for this year’s child reading program at the Poplar Bluff Municipal Library.
The program, “Fizz, Boom, Read,” will begin on June 2nd and give children chances to earn prizes by reading. Marty the Magician, Mad Science of St. Louis, and Animal Tales will also be returning to the library this summer.

STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL SPEAKS ABOUT EXECUTION RULES
Missouri's attorney general says the state should establish its own laboratory to produce chemicals for use in executions rather than rely on an "uneasy cooperation" with medical professionals and pharmaceutical companies.
Attorney General Chris Koster spoke Thursday to the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis during a meeting at Lake of Ozarks. Though a death penalty supporter, the Democratic attorney general cited his own concerns about the death penalty.
Missouri is among several states that purchase execution drugs in secret. Critics say that if details about the source and testing aren't made public, there is no way to assure that the inmate won't suffer during the execution process.
Koster says the state should not be reliant on merchants whose identities must be shielded from public view.
ARKANSAS SUPREME COURT THROWS OUT APPEAL OF MAN CONVICTED OF NORTHEAST ARKANSAS MURDERS
The Arkansas Supreme Court has thrown out an appeal by Charles Wayne "Chad" Green, who is serving life in prison for his role in the slayings of four family members in northeast Arkansas in 1998.
The high court on Thursday ruled that Green's argument that the lower court lacked jurisdiction to find him guilty is without merit.
The 38 year old Green was convicted of capital murder in the deaths of Carl and Lisa Elliott and their young children, Gregory and Felicia. They were killed near Dalton and it took authorities until 2003 to bring charges against Green and his father, 58 year old Billy Dale Green.
Both men are serving sentences of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Authorities say the killings occurred after a drug deal went sour.
