MAN STRUCK AND KILLED BY VEHICLE ON HIGHWAY 60 IN STODDARD COUNTY
A 36 year old man was struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday night in Stoddard County.
According to the Dexter Police Department, Terry Edmond Belcher Jr. was attempting to cross Highway 60 on foot when he was hit by an eastbound vehicle.
Belcher was pronounced dead at the scene. Dexter Police say no foul play is suspected in the death.
INMATE FROM BUTLER COUNTY ESCAPES FROM WORK DETAIL
Authorities in Butler County say an inmate escaped from a work detail last week.
25 year old Jeremy Hicks, who is a non violent offender, reportedly escaped on Thursday, according to KFVS.
The report says Hicks poses no threat to the public. Anyone with information on Hicks’ whereabouts is asked to contact police.
WOMAN SOUGHT BY JONESBORO POLICE CAUGHT IN TENNESSEE
The mother of a missing child has been arrested in Tennessee
On Friday, the Jonesboro Police Department asked for the public’s help in finding 31 year old Christine Rebecca Flick and four year old Alyssa Lee. Flick is the child’s non-custodial mother.
Detective Sergeant Cassie Brandon said the child’s father was granted temporary custody of Alyssa Lee by a Craighead County court in July of 2014.
WMC-TV is reporting that Flick is in custody of the Millington Police Department; however the whereabouts of Lee are currently unknown.
WOMAN FACING METH RELATED CHARGE OUT OF WAYNE COUNTY
Authorities say an Ellington woman was arrested on a meth related charge Sunday night.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 37 year old Nora Ireland was taken into custody shortly after 10 pm Sunday night in Wayne County.
Ireland is facing felony charges of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine; and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
ELLINGTON MAN ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGE
An Ellington man is facing a drug charge following his arrest Sunday night.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 34 year old Travis Hampton was arrested on charges of felony possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine; and felony use of drug paraphernalia.
Hampton also reportedly had a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant out of Iron County.
WINONA TEENAGER CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE
A Winona teenager is facing a felony drug related charge following his arrest in Shannon County.
According to authorities, the 17 year old male was arrested Sunday morning on a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine.
The teen is also facing a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
WIDESPREAD THUNDERSTORMS IN THE FORECAST FOR TODAY
The National Weather Service says widespread thunderstorms are in the forecast for today.
According to a Hazardous Weather Outlook released Sunday night, a few severe storms are possible today with damaging winds and large hail also possible.
Heavy rainfall will also be a concern this morning across Southeast Missouri.
BARK IN THE PARK TO BE HELD THIS WEEKEND
A fun event for dog lovers is coming up this weekend in Poplar Bluff.
The Animal Welfare Alliance will be holding “Bark in the Park” on Sunday, May 17th from 2 to 5 pm at Hendrickson Park. Some events to be held include dog training demonstrations, a pet parade and goofy pet contests.
Admission is free for humans, however there will be a $1 charge per dog. Owners are asked to make sure there dogs are on leashes.
