RUNAWAY JUVENILE FOUND SAFE
A runaway juvenile was found safe over the weekend.
Butler County Sheriff Mark Dobbs tells KWOC News that an 11 year old juvenile was reported missing Saturday morning in rural Butler County.
Chief Deputy Brian Evans with the Butler County Sheriff’s Department tells us more,
The family later alerted the Sheriff’s Office that the juvenile was found safe south of the residence.
BERNIE MAN IN CUSTODY ON DRUG CHARGE
A Bernie man is in custody following his arrest on a drug charge.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 29 year old Qunicy Murphy the third was arrested for failure to obey a judge’s orders and possession of a controlled substance.
The Sheriff’s Department says Murphy remains in jail and no bond has been set.
TWO ARRESTED IN POPLAR BLUFF
Two people were arrested Friday in Poplar Bluff.
According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, an officer approached a vehicle Friday evening that was occupied by three people. Inside the vehicle, the officer found Kalie Nicolini and placed her under arrest for a violation of exparte.
During the arrest, the officer conducted a search and found a small corner baggie which contained a clear crystal substance in Nicolini’s pockets.
The officer also found 44 year old Doyle Turner, of Poplar Bluff, inside the vehicle. Turner was also taken into custody after the officer was alerted that Turner had an active warrant for his arrest.
MAN FACING MULTIPLE CHARGES FOLLOWING ARREST IN POPLAR BLUFF
A Poplar Bluff man was taken into custody Saturday on a Stoddard County Warrant.
According to the Deputy Chief Jeff Rolland with the Poplar Bluff Police Department, an officer arrested 29 year old Isiac Cook Saturday afternoon.
While searching Cook, the officer found a small plastic bag with a small amount of a brown substance and half of a white pill located in Cook’s pocket. The brown substance later field tested positive for heroin.
The officer also found a glass smoking pipe with residue, a cigar package with 13 white pills, and a plastic straw with a white powder located in Cook’s back pack. The residue in the glass pipe field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Cook is facing charges including possession of drugs for methamphetamine and heroin.
TWO ARRESTED SATURDAY NIGHT DURING INCIDENT IN POPLAR BLUFF
Two people were arrested over the weekend during an incident in Poplar Bluff.
According to authorities, Shawn Beasley and Amber McDannald were taken into custody Saturday night near the parking garage on Broadway.
According to police, an officer noticed Beasley rolling something in a paper inside a vehicle. When asked, Beasley reportedly said he was rolling a cigarette, however he then showed the officer a pack of cigarettes that were not self rolled.
While searching the vehicle, the officer found a glass smoking pipe with residue in between the passenger seat and the center console.
An officer also found three syringes located inside McDannald’s purse. A crystal like substance inside one of the syringes field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Authorities say Beasley also had four warrants for his arrest.
Both Beasley and McDannald were arrested and taken to the Police Station for processing.
CHAFFEE MAN DIES AFTER FALLING OVERBOARD IN MISSISSIPPI RIVER
The body of a Chaffee man was recovered Monday afternoon in the Mississippi River.
Sergeant Clark Parrott with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that 57 year old Brian Ourth was operating a trolling motor on his vessel at the Diversion Channel when he fell overboard into the water.
Ourth reportedly submerged and did not resurface. He was pronounced dead at shortly after 3 pm Monday.
GUEST SPEAKER ANNOUNCED FOR 2015 US BANK’S STEAK AND BURGER
A St. Louis Cardinals pitching star will be the guest speaker for this year’s US Bank’s Steak and Burger.
Chris Rushin, Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Poplar Bluff tells KWOC News that Michael Wacha will be the speaker at the event on November 19th at the Black River Coliseum.
Tickets will go on sale on Monday, October 5th at the Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce and the Black River Coliseum. Dinner tickets will be $75.
Guest speakers in previous years have included Cardinals manager Mike Matheny and former player Jim Edmonds.
