POPLAR BLUFF MAN FOUND IN POSSESSION OF DRUGS AND A GUN DURING TRAFFIC STOP  

A Poplar Bluff man is facing multiple charges after he was found with drugs and a gun during a traffic stop.

Chief Deputy Brian Evans with the Butler County Sheriff’s Department tells us more:

During the booking process deputies also found 8 ounces of methamphetamine ice on the suspect.

32 year old Alvin Hightower, of Cape Girardeau, is facing charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

 

PUXICO MAN ARRESTED ON DRUG AND GUN CHARGES

 

A Puxico man was taken into custody Tuesday on drug and gun charges.

Sergeant Clark Parrott with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that 49 year old Joseph Caulfield was arrested at around 11 am in Stoddard County.

Caulfield is facing felony charges of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and marijuana, possession of a controlled substance for hydrocodone and xanax, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

Caulfield is also charged with felon in possession of a firearm.

 

PAVEMENT REPAIRS TO BEGIN TODAY ON ROUTE 67 IN BUTLER COUNTY

 

Southbound Route 67 in Butler County will be reduced to one lane today and tomorrow so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can perform pavement repairs.

The work zone is located between Route C and Route 160.

Work will take place today and tomorrow from 7 am to 5 pm each day.

 

BUTLER COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT TO HOST FLU CLINIC THIS AFTERNOON IN NEELYVILLE

 

With flu season upcoming the Butler County Health Department has scheduled several free flu clinics across the county.

The first scheduled clinic will be held this afternoon at the Neelyville School Multipurpose Room from 3:30 to 6 pm.

The health department says there are two types of flu vaccines, the “Flu Shot” and a nasal-spray flu vaccine.

DEATH OF MAN IN POLICE CUSTODY DETERMINED TO BE NATURAL CAUSES

 

Continuing to follow a story we brought you earlier this week, an autopsy has been conducted on a man who died in police custody.

43 year old Ernest Williams was arrested following a chase with Kennett Police Officers early Sunday morning. At the police department, the subject began complaining of shortness of breath and was taken to an area hospital where he later went unresponsive and was eventually pronounced dead.

An autopsy was conducted and determined that Williams died of natural causes.

Sergeant Clark Parrott with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that no foul play is suspected in the case.

 

MAN ARRESTED IN CARTER COUNTY ON DRUG RELATED CHARGES

 

A Birch Tree man has been taken into custody on drug related charges.

Sergeant Clark Parrott with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that 40 year old Shawn Wilkins was arrested early Monday morning in Carter County on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and felony possession of a controlled substance.

Wilkins was held in the Carter County Jail and later released.

 

ZALMA MAN FACING METH CHARGE

 

A Zalma man is facing a meth charge following his arrest Tuesday in Stoddard County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 48 year old Stanley Chubb was taken into custody on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.

Chubb is also facing a charge of possession of marijuana.

 

BUTLER COUNTY ROAD TO BE CLOSED TODAY FOR PIPE REPLACEMENT

 

Crews with the Missouri Department of Transportation will be closing a Butler County road today so they can perform a pipe replacement.

During the operation, Route 142 will be closed from 8 am to 6 pm between Route EE and County Road 267.
