11 YEAR OLD GIRL HIT BY VEHICLE IN BUTLER COUNTY  

An 11 year old Poplar Bluff girl was hit by a vehicle Friday afternoon in Butler County.

Sergeant Clark Parrott with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that the girl ran into the path of a vehicle on Highway 53, one mile south of Poplar Bluff at around 4:30 pm Friday.

The girl was flown to a Memphis hospital with serious injuries.

 

MAN ARRESTED AFTER ATTEMPTING TO RUN FROM OFFICER

 

A Qulin man is facing multiple charges, including resisting arrest, following an incident with an officer at a Poplar Bluff business.

Chief Deputy Jeff Rolland with the Poplar Bluff Police Department tells KWOC News that the officer was at the business Sunday evening when an employee alerted him that a male subject had used a razor knife to cut the packaging of a BB gun.

The officer contacted the subject, who said his name was Steven Rick. During an ID Check, the officer was told that Steven Rick was incarcerated. After the officer told the subject this, the man allegedly began to run.

He was apprehended and admitted to the officer that his name was Joseph Rick. Rick was taken into custody on charges including resisting arrest and 2nd degree property damage.

 

PAVEMENT REPAIRS SCHEDULED FOR TODAY IN BUTLER COUNTY

 

Motorists in Butler County should expect delays today on Route UU.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, Route UU will be reduced to one lane from 10 am to 3:30 pm for pavement repairs.

The work zone will be located between Route 53 and County Road 320.

 

CAMPBELL MAN FACING ATTEMPTED BURGLARY CHARGE OUT OF STODDARD COUNTY

 

A Campbell man was recently taken into custody on an attempted burglary charge.

Few details about the incident are available, but the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department tells KWOC News that 51 year old William Joyner is facing a charge of 2nd degree attempted burglary.

Joyner’s bond was set at $7,500.

 

BICYCLE RIDER HIT BY VEHICLE IN WARDELL

 

A bicycle rider suffered serious injuries Friday when he was hit by a vehicle.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 20 year old Carlos Holder, of Wardell, was attempting to pass the bicyclist, 45 year old Tommy Collins, also of Wardell, when Holder’s vehicle struck Collins.

Collins was seriously injured and flown to a Memphis hospital following the incident.

 

MAN CHARGED WITH FIRST DEGREE MURDER IN WARDELL SHOOTING

 

Updating a story we brought to you last week, a Wardell man is facing a murder charge in connection to the shooting death of Russell Gray Jr.

Gray was shot and killed Thursday evening at a residence in Wardell.

According to authorities, 51 year old Paul Wayne Rudd was taken into custody and has been charged with 1st degree murder and armed criminal action.

 

MONTH LONG BRIDGE REPAIR PROJECT TO BEGIN TODAY IN WAYNE COUNTY

 

Route 34 in Wayne County will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction for most of this month so contractor crews can perform bridge repairs.

The section of roadway to be reduced is located from Missouri Route 49 to U.S. Route 67.

Work will be performed through Wednesday, November 25th from 6 am to 6 pm daily.
