MOTORCYCLE RIDER KILLED IN GREENE COUNTY WRECK
A motorcycle rider from Paragould has died from a wreck in Greene County.
According to the Arkansas State Police, the motorcycle of 52 year old Randy Allen Gates ran off a county road and struck a tree Saturday afternoon.
Gates was killed in the wreck.
MISSING MAN FOUND DEAD IN REYNOLDS COUNTY The body of a missing Lesterville man has been found.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the vehicle of 49 year old John Gutches was swept off a bridge early Wednesday morning into Black River in Reynolds County.
Gutches reportedly drowned after escaping the vehicle. A search for Gutches began after the vehicle was discovered Wednesday morning. His body was then found on Friday.
MISSING CHILDREN FOUND SAFE, FATHER IN CUSTODY Updating a story we brought to you on Friday, two children who were reported missing last week in Sikeston have been found safe.
Captain James McMillen with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety tells KWOC News that the kids’ father, Eugene Phillips, was found Friday morning in Miner.
Phillips, who reportedly has no parental rights, picked up his two children after they got off a school bus on Russell Street Thursday afternoon.
Phillips was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant. He told police that he had just dropped the kids off at the mother’s home. Police were able to make contact with the children and confirmed that they were safe.
The incident is under investigation to determine if any charges will be sought.
BLOOMFIELD MAN FACING METH CHARGE Authorities in Stoddard County arrested a Bloomfield man Friday evening on a felony meth charge.
According to the Highway Patrol, 54 year old Michael Dodson is facing felony charges of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
Dodson is also charged with possession of a controlled substance – marijuana and driving while revoked.
PUXICO MAN ARRESTED ON DRUG RELATED CHARGES A Puxico man is facing multiple drug related charges in connection to his arrest over the weekend.
According to authorities, 28 year old Stephen Donner was arrested Saturday night on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance in a correctional facility.
Donner is also charged with possession of under 35 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
NEW AWARD TO RECOGNIZE ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS OF THREE RIVERS COLLEGE GRADUATES The nomination period has now opened for a new award designed to recognize the accomplishments and achievements of Three Rivers College’s graduates and former students.
The Distinguished Alumni Award will be handed out at a recognition banquet hosted by the college in the spring.
Nominations can be submitted online at trcc.edu/distinguished. A committee drawn from College employees, members of the Three Rivers Board of Trustees and the Three Rivers Endowment Trust, will choose the winning nomination.
The deadline for nominations is January 15th.
