JOEY WOODRUFF:

On Saturday morning, around 2:15 am, Officer Bates was flagged down by a motorist who believed someone was inside the business of Will's Automotive Machine Shop. Officer Bates responded to the business and observed three unidentified people exiting. Further inspection of the business revealed the pane of the front door had been kicked out. During an area search for the subjects, several juveniles were located behind a neighboring residence. At the arrival of the business owner, it was determined that the shop had been entered and approximately $2,000 in cash and a briefcase containing important paperwork were missing. Through the course of our investigation three suspects were identified. Brett Walls, 17 of Poplar Bluff, and a 15 year old juvenile were located at a residence in the 600 block of Park Street and taken into custody. The third suspect, a 16 year old juvenile, was subsequently identified. Later, the business owner contacted the Poplar Bluff Police Department and advised he had located the briefcase near the scene. Brett Walls was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary.
