STODDARD COUNTY JURY FINDS MAN GUILTY ON CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGES
A man has been found guilty by a Stoddard County jury on child pornography charges.
According to Stoddard County Prosecuting Attorney Russ Oliver, Verl Cato, of Dexter, was found guilty Monday of all counts of possession of child pornography.
Cato had been arrested by the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department in July of 2012.
DEXTER POLICE INVESTIGATING COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY
Authorities in Dexter are investigating the use of counterfeit currency.
According to the Dexter Police Department, the fake currency was recently passed at a local business.
Police say they have spoken with a man in connection to the investigation; however no further details were made available.
CULVERT REPLACEMENT TO CAUSE DELAYS THIS WEEK IN CARTER COUNTY
A week long culvert pipe replacement project is underway in Carter County.
Route DD in Carter County will be closed this week as Missouri Department of Transportation crews replace a culvert pipe beneath the roadway.
The work zone is located from Route A to the end of state maintenance.
Work will take place from 8 am to 3 pm daily through Friday.
ARREST MADE IN CONNECTION TO STABBING DEATH
An arrest has been made in connection to a stabbing death in Northeast Arkansas.
According to authorities, 38 year old Bennie Holliman, of Blytheville, was stabbed in the neck on Sunday night. He later died at an area hospital.
Authorities say a juvenile has been taken into custody in connection to the incident. The name of the juvenile was not released.
POPLAR BLUFF SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTED BY STATE AGENCY
A Poplar Bluff school has been highlighted in a recent newsletter published by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Lake Road Elementary was selected as the Southeast Region's success story in the "Positive Focus" quarterly newsletter.
The winter publication highlights nine schools in the state that have experienced notable results applying the Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support system, which aims to create and maintain an effective learning environment.

BRIDGE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULED FOR TODAY IN DUNKLIN COUNTY
Route A in Dunklin County will be reduced to one lane today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform bridge maintenance.
The bridge to be worked on is located between County Road 525 and County Road 526.
Weather permitting, work will take place today from 8 am to 3:30 pm.
