MAN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION TO FIRE AT KENNETT RESIDENCEA Kennett man is facing an arson charge in connection to an incident early Monday morning.
According to the Kennett Police Department, shortly before 2 am Monday, officers were dispatched to a residence in reference to an unwanted guest. Upon arrival, officers were advised that the unwanted guest had already left.
While conducting a check of the area, officers discovered a fire in the rear part of the residence. The Kennett Fire Department was notified and the house, which was occupied by four adults and nine children, was evacuated.
Investigators determined that the fire had been intentionally set. 20-year-old Deontae Dunn, of Kennett, was later taken into custody.
Investigators have forwarded formal paperwork to the Dunklin County Prosecutor’s office recommending the filing of charges of arson 1st degree, 13 counts of domestic assault 1st degree, and nine counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
WRECK NEAR POPLAR BLUFF RESULTS IN SERIOUS INJURIES FOR WILLIAMSVILLE MAN A Williamsville man suffered serious injuries Monday afternoon in a single vehicle wreck in Butler County.
According to authorities, the wreck occurred on Highway W, near Poplar Bluff, when 46 year old Eric White lost control of his vehicle on the wet roadway and overturned.
White was partially ejected during the wreck. He received serious injuries and was transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital.
POPLAR BLUFF POLICE SEEK THE PUBLIC’S HELP IN IDENTIFYING PERSON OF INTEREST IN RECENT THEFT Poplar Bluff Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a person in connection to an area theft.
According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, the subject is a person of interest in a recent theft from a local business.

MOTORCYCLE DRIVER KILLED IN WRECK IN ELLINGTON A motorcycle driver was killed in a wreck Monday night in the Ellington area.
Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that 55 year old Chet Pullen, of Park Hills, failed to yield to a vehicle and was struck at around 7 pm Monday.
Pullen was ejected from the motorcycle and later pronounced dead at the scene.
TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST OF PIGGOTT MAN A traffic stop on Monday night led to the arrest of a Piggott man.
Clay County Sheriff Terry Miller tells KWOC News that at around 8:30 pm Monday, Piggott officers conducted a traffic stop on 51 year old Shenan Lockard.
Lockard was known to have an active warrant through the Piggott Police Department and was taken to the Clay County Detention Center.
During booking, two grams of a white crystal substance were located on Lockard's person.
Miller says that Lockard is awaiting a probable cause hearing for possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine.
POPLAR BLUFF MAN ARRESTED ON COCAINE CHARGE Authorities in Butler County have arrested an area man on a cocaine charge.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 50 year old Milton Taylor, of Poplar Bluff, was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon on a felony charge of possession of cocaine.
Taylor is also facing charges of possession of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
MULTIPLE COMMUNITIES IN NORTHEAST ARKANSAS AWARDED GRANTS FOR DOWNTOWN REVITALIZATION Multiple communities in Northeast Arkansas were recently announced to be recipients of various grant programs.
Nineteen Main Street Arkansas programs shared $285,000 in Downtown Revitalization Grants for building rehabilitations, parks, streetscape improvements and other design-related projects that will have major long-term impacts in the local Main Street area.
The programs, including Paragould and Blytheville, each received $15,000 grants. Grants of $1,000 each were also awarded to programs in Pocahontas and Rector.
Nineteen counties, including Clay and Mississippi, also shared approximately $1.6 million dollars in County Courthouse Restoration Grants.
