TODAY IS PINK OUT DAY IN POPLAR BLUFF

  Don’t be surprised if you see a lot of the color pink today in Poplar Bluff.

Today is Pink-Out Day, an annual fundraising event for the United Cancer Assistance Network.

The events will continue to the pink out game tonight as the Poplar Bluff Mules football team takes on Hillsboro. Attendees are encouraged to wear their pink t-shirts.

  2017 QULIN HOMECOMING TO BE HELD THIS WEEKEND

  The 2017 Qulin Homecoming has been scheduled for this weekend.

The festivities will kick off tonight with the Qulin Homecoming Beauty Pageants, starting at 6 pm at the Qulin Middle School Gym.

Events scheduled for Saturday include the parade, a corn hole tournament, and a pumpkin decorating contest. There will also be multiple food and craft booths.

  COLON CANCER AWARENESS BENEFIT TO BE HELD THIS WEEKEND IN WAPPAPELLO

  A benefit to raise awareness of colon cancer has been scheduled for this weekend in Southeast Missouri.

The Heroes Never Stop Fighting Colon Cancer Awareness Benefit honoring Tina Cook will be held from noon to 6 pm on Sunday at the Camp in Wappapello.

Entertainment will be provided during the event by Justin Heskett and there will also be food and a silent auction.

  OVER TEN POPLAR BLUFF STUDENTS QUALIFY FOR ALL DISTRICT CHOIR

  Over ten Poplar Bluff students recently qualified for the Southeast Missouri all district choir.

According to school officials, 12 Poplar Bluff High School choral students were named to the choir following auditions last month in Cape Girardeau, the most to qualify in recent memory.

The finalists will rehearse and perform a concert on Saturday, November 11th, at Cape Central High School.

Officials say that the upperclassmen will also have an opportunity to try out for the All-State Choir.

 

  FLORIDA MAN ARRESTED ON METH CHARGE IN PEMISCOT COUNTY

  A Florida man has been arrested in Southeast Missouri on a felony meth charge.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 44 year old Michael Best, of Lakeland, Florida, was taken into custody last night in Pemiscot County on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.

He was also reportedly arrested on a charge of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

 

  POPLAR BLUFF POM SQUAD TO HOST THEIR THIRD ANNUAL PRINCESS FOR A DAY FUNDRAISER

  The Poplar Bluff Pom Squad has announced they will be hosting their third annual Princess for a Day fundraising event on Saturday, October 28th.

The event is available for all girls ages 12 and under. Tickets are $25 and include a princess tiara, hair styling, make-up, and more. It will be held at the Poplar Bluff Kindergarten Center and Gymnasium.

Pre-registration will be held on Monday, October 16th from 5 to 7 pm at the Poplar Bluff High School football field entrance.
