POPLAR BLUFF WOMAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN SINGLE VEHICLE WRECK

A Poplar Bluff woman was badly injured yesterday morning in a single vehicle wreck in Butler County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 38 year old Lori Wood was driving on US Highway 60 when she ran off the side of the road and struck a tree.

Wood was seriously injured in the wreck and transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital.

FLU CLINIC SCHEDULED FOR TODAY AT BUTLER COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT

A flu clinic has been scheduled for today in Butler County.

Officials with the Butler County Health Department say that it is important to remember to protect yourself, family members, and the community from spreading the flu virus. Preventative measures include washing your hands and receiving a flu vaccine.

A flu clinic is scheduled for 1 to 4 pm today at the Butler County Health Department. Additional clinics will be held later over the next week at schools in the Neelyville and Twin Rivers School Districts.

AREA MAN FLOWN TO MEMPHIS HOSPITAL FOLLOWING WRECK

A man has been flown to an area hospital after being involved in a single vehicle wreck near Portageville.

According to the Highway Patrol, a vehicle drive by 23 year old Michael Seyler, of Holcomb, ran off the side of the roadway and overturned.

Officials say the wreck occurred on Highway K in Pemiscot County at around 7:15 am Tuesday morning

Seyler suffered serious injuries in the wreck and was flown to a Memphis hospital.

EARTHQUAKE RECORDED TUESDAY IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI

An earthquake was recorded Tuesday in Southeast Missouri.

According to officials with the United States Geological Survey, a magnitude 2.0 earthquake occurred at 6:49 am Tuesday.

The earthquake was located approximately five and a half miles southwest of Charleston.

POPLAR BLUFF WOMAN ARRESTED ON METH CHARGE

Authorities in Butler County have arrested an area woman on a felony meth charge.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 24 year old Mickala Ramsey, of Poplar Bluff, was taken into custody Tuesday morning on a charge of felony possession of methamphetamine.

Ramsey is also facing a charge of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. She also reportedly had a warrant from the Poplar Bluff Police Department.

Following the arrest, Ramsey was held at the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.

BRIDGE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULED FOR TODAY IN STODDARD COUNTY

Westbound Route 60 in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane today so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can perform bridge maintenance.

The section of roadway to be reduced is located between County Road 583 and Route N.

Work will be performed from 7 am to 4 pm.

PAVEMENT REPAIR PROJECT UNDERWAY IN NEW MADRID COUNTY

Route 61 in New Madrid County is being reduced this week so crews with Missouri Department of Transportation can perform pavement repairs.

Officials say the work zone is located on Route 61 between County Road 502 to East Outer Road I-55.

Weather permitting, work is scheduled for 8 am to 2:30 pm daily through Friday, October 26th.
