DONIPHAN MAN FACING FELONY DRUG CHARGE FOLLOWING ARREST IN BUTLER COUNTY
A Doniphan man has been taken into custody in Butler County on a felony meth charge.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 59 year old Scott Silman was arrested Monday afternoon on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.
Authorities say he was also arrested on charges of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to register a motor vehicle.
Following the arrest, Silman was held at the Butler County Jail.
AREA MAN ARRESTED ON ATTEMPTED BURGLARY WARRANT
Authorities in Stoddard County say that an area man has been taken into custody on an attempted burglary warrant.
Officials with the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department tell KWOC News that 55 year old Joseph Capps, of Advance, was recently arrested on a warrant for unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, and attempted burglary.
Capps bond was set at $17,500, cash only.
BULLETS FIRED INTO HOME IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI
An investigation is ongoing into a report of shots being fired into a home in Southeast Missouri.
Steele Police Chief Billy Joe Stanfield tells KWOC News that early Saturday morning officers responded to a home on North Walnut Street in reference to shots being fired into a house.
Officers discovered the front glass window to the home had been shot out and also found bullet holes in the living room wall.
Two adults were in the living room at the time of the shooting but Stanfield says that no one was injured.

OVER 2,500 DEER HARVESTED DURING LATE YOUTH PORTION OF DEER SEASON
Missouri’s young hunters harvested over 2,500 deer this past weekend.
Preliminary data from the Missouri Department of Conservation shows that hunters, ages 6 through 15, harvested 2,556 deer during Missouri’s late youth portion of the 2018 deer hunting season which ran from November 23rd through the 25th.
Southeast Missouri was well represented in the final totals with Wayne County being the top county in the state with 47 deer checked, followed by Ripley at 46; and Franklin, Macon, and Osage each having 45 deer checked.
Up next for deer hunting in Missouri is the antlerless portion of firearms deer season, which runs from November 30th through December 2nd.
BRIDGE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULED FOR TODAY IN BUTLER COUNTY
Southbound Route 67 in Butler County will be reduced to one lane today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform bridge maintenance.
The bridge involved is the Black River Bridge located between County Road 401 and Route JJ.
MoDOT officials say that work is scheduled to be performed from 7 am to 3:30 pm.
ROUTE B IN BUTLER COUNTY TO BE REDUCED TODAY AND TOMORROW
Route B in Butler County will be reduced to one lane today and tomorrow so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can perform edge rut repairs.
Officials say the section of roadway to be reduced is located from Business 60 to Route 51.
Work is scheduled to be performed from 7 am to 3:30 pm each day.
