POPLAR BLUFF MAN ARRESTED ON FELONY ASSAULT AND DRUG CHARGES
A Poplar Bluff man is facing multiple felony charges following his arrest in Butler County.
According to the Butler County Sheriff’s Department, 32 year old David Smith was taken into custody at around 3 am Sunday morning, on felony charges of vehicular assault 2nd degree, felony leaving the scene of an accident, and possession of a controlled substance for methamphetamine.
Smith is also facing charges of possession of marijuana – 10 grams or less, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Following the arrest, he was taken to the Butler County Jail.
CAMPBELL MAN INJURED FOLLOWING WRECK IN DUNKLIN COUNTY
A Campbell man was injured in a wreck Tuesday morning in Dunklin County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at around 6:30 am Tuesday when a vehicle, driven by 23 year old Logan Chambliss, failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the right side of the roadway, and struck a ditch.
Chambliss received moderate injuries in the wreck and was transported to a Dexter hospital.
STODDARD COUNTY ROAD TO BE REDUCED NEXT WEEK FOR PARTIAL OVERLAY
Route N in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane as Missouri Department of Transportation crews partially overlay the roadway.
According to MoDOT, the work zone will be located between Route E and US 60.
Weather permitting, work will take place next Monday and Tuesday from 6 am to 4:30 pm daily.
MAN ARRESTED IN BUTLER COUNTY FOR METH
Authorities in Butler County have arrested a Poplar Bluff man on a felony drug charge.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 19 year old Hunter Sandlin was arrested over the weekend on a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine.
Sandlin is also facing a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Following the arrest, he was held at the Butler County Jail.
DATE SET FOR 2018 REAL MEN RALLY
The date has been set for the next Real Men Rally at the Palace of Praise in Poplar Bluff.
The event on Saturday, April 21st, will include competitions, dinner, and speakers including John Godwin from Duck Dynasty and Jonathan Zeigler.

RIVER CLEAN UP SCHEDULED FOR EARLY APRIL
The 2018 River Cleanup event has been scheduled for early April on streams and trails at Ozark National Scenic Riverways.
The event will be held from 9 am to 4 pm on April 7th, with registration beginning at 8 am. At 5 pm that evening there will be a meal and entertainment for participants at Big Spring.

POPLAR BLUFF CHURCH TO HOST EASTER FUN FEST THIS WEEKEND
A Poplar Bluff church will be hosting a Easter fun fest this weekend.
Cornerstone Tabernacle will be hosting the event on Saturday, March 31st from 2 to 5 pm.
