POPLAR BLUFF MAN INJURED IN WRECK INVOLVING A DUMP TRUCK

A Poplar Bluff man was injured in a wreck involving a dump truck Wednesday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred shortly after 8:30 am Wednesday on US Highway 67, approximately three miles north of Poplar Bluff.

The dump truck was attempting a pass when it struck a car in the side, causing the car to drive off the side of the road and overturn.

The driver of the car suffered minor injuries and was taken to a Poplar Bluff hospital.

 

GLENALLEN MAN ARRESTED IN MARBLE HILL ON CHILD MOLESTATION CHARGE

Authorities in Marble Hill say that an area man has been taken into custody on a child molestation charge.

Officials with the Marble Hill Police Department tell KWOC News that on Thursday, May 31st, officers investigated a report of child molestation that allegedly occurred in the Twin City Park bathroom.

Officials say that James Pattie, of Glenallen, has been arrested for child molestation in the 4th degree. His bond was set at $2,000, cash or surety.

 

RIPLEY COUNTY ROAD TO BE CLOSED TODAY FOR PIPE REPLACEMENT

Route T in Ripley County will be closed today so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can replace a pipe under the roadway. 

The closure will be located between County Road T-4 and County Road T-2.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, work will take place today from 8 am to 3 pm.

 

CONTRACTS AWARDED FOR ROAD PROJECTS IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI

The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has awarded multiple contracts for road projects in Southeast Missouri.

Contracts were awarded Wednesday for a bridge replacement on Route 67 over Cedar Creek in Wayne County, the resurfacing of portions of Eastbound Route 60 in Carter and Shannon Counties, and drainage improvements on Route Y in Sikeston.

Officials say that additional information about the projects, including timelines and impacts to traffic, will be released prior to the start of construction.

 

MISSOURI VFW RIDERS DISTRICT 15 TO HOST POKER RUN THIS WEEKEND

The Missouri VFW Riders District 15 will be holding their 3rd Annual Poker Run this weekend.

Registration for the event will begin at 8 am this Saturday, June 9th, at the Lake Wappapello United Methodist Church on D Highway. The Poker Run is scheduled to begin at 10 am that morning.

PAVEMENT REPAIRS TO CAUSE ROAD CLOSURE TODAY IN NEW MADRID COUNTY

Route V in New Madrid County will be closed through next Thursday as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.

According to MoDOT, the section of roadway to be closed is located from Route 80 to Route P.

Weather permitting, work will take place from 7 am to 4:30 pm through Thursday, June 14th.
