AUTHORITIES IN PORTAGEVILLE INVESTIGATING ASSAULT
A Southeast Missouri Police Department is asking local residents for assistance in an assault investigation.
The Portageville Police Department is investigating an assault that reportedly occurred Monday morning at around 11 am in the area of the 900 block of West State Highway 162.
Police officials are asking for any resident that has a surveillance camera on their home on St. Anthony or Robin Lane to contact the police department. Officials are also seeking any possible witnesses to this incident.

PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE ISSUED FOR PARTS OF DONIPHAN
Some residents of Doniphan are being asked to boil their water.
According to the Doniphan Police Department, a precautionary boil water notice has been issued for residents of Brooks Street, north to Summit Street and from Lafayette Street, west to Miller Street.
The notice is also for residents of Alma Street, east to the city limits and from East Locust Street, north to Barbara Avenue.

BUTLER COUNTY ROAD TO BE CLOSED FOR PAVEMENT REPAIRS
Route Z in Butler County will be closed today and tomorrow as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.
The section of route Z to be closed is located from County Road 569 to Route B.
Work will take place from 7 am to 6 pm both days. During the repairs, the road will be open to local traffic only.
OHIO MAN ARRESTED ON FELONY CHARGE IN STODDARD COUNTY
An Ohio man has been taken into custody in Stoddard County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 40 year old Christopher Adamson, of West Salem, Ohio, was arrested Tuesday morning on a felony charge of endangering a correctional employee by knowingly causing a person to come in contact with bodily fluids.
Adamson is also facing charges of driving while intoxicated – prior offender and operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manor.
Officials say that Adamson was held in the Stoddard County Jail.
MUSHROOM HUNTING PROGRAM TO BE HELD THIS WEEKEND BY THE ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS
Anyone interested in hunting mushrooms is being invited to attend a program this weekend hosted by the Wappapello Lake US Army Corps of Engineers.
The program, “Mushroom Hunting 101: Introduction to Basic Foraging” will be held at 11 am and 2 pm on Saturday at the Bill Emerson Memorial Visitor Center.
Attendees will learn what mushrooms are available in our area and how to keep yourself safe by avoiding toxic lookalikes.
DATE SET FOR 21ST ANNUAL BUTLER COUNTY JOB FAIR
A date has been set for the 21st annual Butler County Job Fair.
According to the Butler County Community Resource Council, the job fair will be held from 10 am to 3 pm on Friday, August 24th at the Bess Activity Center on the campus of Three Rivers College.
Officials say that booth space is free to employers and advance registration is required. There will be 50 booth spaces available on a first come, first served basis.
