HIT AND RUN SUSPECT TO APPEAR IN COURT THIS MORNING
A suspect in a Poplar Bluff area hit and run is scheduled to appear in court this morning.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 23 year old Wendy Dumas, of Poplar Bluff, was walking on the southbound shoulder of Highway 53 on February 4th when she was struck by a northbound vehicle.
Dumas was later pronounced dead at an area hospital.
According to Missouri Case Net, 23 year old Zack Davis, of Poplar Bluff, is facing felony charges of leaving the scene of an accident and tampering with physical evidence in felony prosecution.
Davis has a court appearance scheduled for around 9 am this morning in Butler County.
POLICE INVESTIGATING THEFT AT POPLAR BLUFF TRAIN DEPOT
Authorities in Poplar Bluff are investigating a theft at the train depot.
According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, on the evening of February 26th, a white male riding a bicycle forced entry into a closed off section of the depot and stole unspecified items.
The suspect again forced entry into the Train Depot two days later.

OVER 200 DOZEN DONUTS SOLD TO AID THE SHO-ME BAND
The Sho-Me Band booster club has sold over 200 dozen donuts to raise money for band students.
Poplar Bluff school officials say the High School sold 130 dozen donuts and 65 maple bacon long johns, while the Junior High sold 115 dozen donuts and 50 maple bacon bars during the fundraiser.
The fundraiser generated about $1,500 for the band students.
Band Director Stephen Winters says the proceeds for the Sho-Me Band will be used to help fund the spring banquet as well as go toward next year's marching show, while Junior High Band earnings will help pay for the students' music festival trip to Six Flags.
THREE PEOPLE ARRESTED ON METH CHARGES IN BUTLER COUNTY
Three people were taken into custody early Sunday Morning in Butler County on meth charges.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 56 year old Rodney Newman, of Ellsinore, 18 year old Payten Ice, of Poplar Bluff, and a 17 year old male, also of Poplar Bluff, were each arrested on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine.
Ice is also facing felony charges of possession of a defaced firearm and unlawful use of a weapon.
Following the arrests, all three were held at the Butler County Jail.
GRAYRIDGE MAN ARRESTED ON CHILD MOLESTATION WARRANT
An area man been arrested on a molestation warrant in Stoddard County.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 73 year old Perry Thornton Sr., of Grayridge, was recently arrested on multiple warrants including one for child molestation 1st degree.
Officials say that Thornton’s bond has been set at $25,000, cash only.
STODDARD COUNTY ROAD TO BE CLOSED THIS WEEK FOR A CULVERT PIPE REPLACEMENT
Route ZZ in Stoddard County will be closed this week so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can replace a culvert pipe under the roadway.
The section of Route ZZ to be closed is located between County Road 657 and County Road 651.
Weather permitting, work is scheduled to take place today through Wednesday, from 8 am to 4:30 pm each day.
