ENDANGERED PERSON ADVISORY FOR KENNETT WOMAN CANCELLED 

Authorities have cancelled an Endangered Person Advisory for a Kennett woman after she was found safe.  

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the 28 year old woman was reported missing over the weekend after a family member returned home to find her gone. 

The Highway Patrol reported on Sunday morning that the woman had been found safe and that the advisory had been cancelled. 

PUXICO MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN SINGLE VEHICLE WRECK OVER THE WEEKEND 

A Puxico man was transported to an area hospital Saturday morning following a single vehicle wreck in Stoddard County.  

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 20 year old Julius Richard was driving on Route T, when his vehicle ran off the side of the road, struck an embankment, and overturned.  

Richard suffered moderate injuries in the wreck and was taken by ambulance to a Cape Girardeau hospital.

WRESTLING CAMP TO BE HELD THIS WEEK AT POPLAR BLUFF HIGH SCHOOL 

Children in Poplar Bluff will have a chance to improve their wrestling skills at a camp this week.  

The Poplar Bluff Wrestling Camp will begin at 5:30 pm tonight at the Poplar Bluff High School wrestling room. The event will run from 5:30 pm to 7 pm through June 13th.

POPLAR BLUFF POLICE SEEKING HELP IN IDENTIFYING SHOPLIFTING SUSPECT 

Authorities in Poplar Bluff are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a shoplifting complaint. 

The suspect reportedly stole multiple items, including a Bluetooth speaker, from Academy Sports and Outdoors.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect, or where he can be located, is asked to contact Officer Jeremy Elless at 573-785-5776.

ROAD PROJECT ON ROUTE 60 IN BUTLER, CARTER, AND SHANNON COUNTIES CONTINUES 

According to the Missouri Department of Conservation, Travelers on east and westbound Route 60 should continue to expect temporary lane closures as contractor crews perform slope and drainage repairs. The project limits will extend from Route 67 in Poplar Bluff to Route E in Winona. 

As work is underway, Route 60 will be reduced with a 12-foot width restriction at various locations. Short, temporary work zones will be set up within the project limits. Each work zone will be in place for several days before crews move to the next location. 

Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by July 8th.

CHILDREN’S SUMMER READING PROGRAM CONTINUES AT POPLAR BLUFF MUNICIPAL LIBRARY 

The 2019 Children’s Summer Reading Program at the Poplar Bluff Municipal Library is now underway.  

This summer, kids can earn grand prize entries by reading and doing good deeds for their families, neighbors, friends, and the community. There will be multiple grand prizes, including Kindle Fire Tablets and bicycles.  

The free program is open to children and young adults between the ages of 3 and 17 until August 3rd.
