BURGLARY LEADS TO A POPLAR BLUFF WOMAN’S ARREST 

A Poplar Bluff woman was taken into custody following a burglary report.  

Butler County Sheriff Mark Dobbs tells KWOC News, on Monday evening, deputies received a report of a burglary at a residence on County Road 560. Multiple items were taken including a television and a laptop. 

An investigation into the burglary led deputies to search a vehicle at a location on County Road 560. Inside the vehicle deputies found multiple electronic devices that were taken during the burglary.  

Deputies also found several other items that had been reported stolen from other victims.  

52 year old Kimberly McFall, of Poplar Bluff was arrested on charges of burglary 2nd degree, possession of burglary tools, and trespassing 1st degree.  

McFall is currently being lodged in the Butler County Justice Center.

NEELYVILLE MAN FACING METH AND PARAPHERNALIA CHARGES FOLLOWING ARREST 

A Neelyville man is facing a felony drug charge following his arrest Tuesday morning.  

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 69 year old Johnny Evans was taken into custody at around 8:30 am yesterday in Butler County on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.  

Officials say that Evans is also facing a charge of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.  

Following the arrest, he was held at the Butler County Justice Center.

ROAD OVERLAY PROJECT TO CAUSE DELAYS IN RIPLEY COUNTY 

Route B in Ripley County will be reduced with an 11 foot width restriction through the end of this month as contractor crews overlay the roadway. 

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the section of roadway to be reduced is located from Route 160 to Route 142. 

Weather permitting, work will take place from 7 am to 5 pm daily through Friday, June 28th.

AREA MAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING SHORT PURSUIT IN POPLAR BLUFF 

Authorities in Poplar Bluff say a man has been taken into custody on multiple charges following a short pursuit.  

Lieutenant Josh Stewart with the Poplar Bluff Police Department tells KWOC News that 43 year old Eddie Hart Jr. of Poplar Bluff, was arrested Tuesday afternoon, at the intersection of Emma Street and Eva Street, after he crashed his motorcycle while fleeing from officers.  

Stewart says Hart was arrested for resisting arrest by fleeing, multiple outstanding warrants, and numerous traffic violations.

BUTLER COUNTY AUTHORITIES ARREST AREA MAN ON MULTIPLE FELONY CHARGES 

Authorities in Butler County have arrested an area man on multiple felony charges.  

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 29 year old Wil Hillis, of Poplar Bluff, was taken into custody Monday afternoon on felony charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.  

Hillis is also facing charges of failure to display valid license plates and no insurance.

5K RUN SCHEDULED FOR JULY TO BENEFIT DEXTER THREE RIVERS COLLEGE STUDENTS 

A 5K run has been scheduled for early July to benefit Three Rivers College students in Dexter.  

The college is holding the Dash and Splash 5K Run and Walk on July 12 at East Park in Dexter to support the Student Success Fund.  

Registration will begin at 5 pm and the race will start at 6 pm. 

The registration fee is $20 through June 19th, and participants can choose the 5K Run/Walk, the 1-mile walk, or show support as a “virtual runner.” Beginning June 20, the fee increases to $25 Registration forms can be found at trcc.edu/development/events.
