THREE ARRESTED ON DRUG TRAFFICKING CHARGES IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI

Three men were arrested earlier this week in Southeast Missouri on drug trafficking charges.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 41 year old Corey Crosby, of Indianapolis, Indiana, 24 year old Jamari Jenkins, of Woodville, Mississippi, and 21 year old Brandon Wallace, of Clinton, Louisiana were each taken into custody Monday night in Pemiscot County.

The three were each arrested on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance for ecstasy and oxycodone as well as drug trafficking.

Jenkins is also facing a felony charge of possession of a stolen firearm.

INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY FOLLOWING DEATH OF FORMER ARKANSAS STATE SENATOR

An investigation has been started following the death of a former Arkansas State Senator.

Multiple outlets are reporting that Linda Collins-Smith was discovered dead in her home on Tuesday.

She served in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 2011 to 2013. She was then elected to the Arkansas Senate in 2014.

Collin-Smith was 57 years old.

VANDALISM REPORTED AT AREA LIBRARY

An area library says it is dealing with an act of vandalism.

According to the Rector Public Library Facebook page, someone got into the back area and stole all of the freon out of their air conditioner. The repairs will cost over $700.

Officials are asking area residents that if they see someone messing around in the parking lot of the library, please report them to Library officials or the police.

TWO THREE RIVERS COLLEGE STUDENTS TO COMPETE IN NATIONAL RODEO STARTING ON SUNDAY

The College National Finals Rodeo is set to begin this weekend and two area students will be competing.

Three Rivers College rodeo team members, Jake Sellers and Madison Steele, will be participating in the rodeo.

Steele was the 2019 National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association Ozark Region Breakaway Roping Champion, which secured her spot in the CNFR.

Sellers ended the year in fourth place in the NIRA Ozark Region for bull riding. Since the competitor in third place was unable to attend the CNFR, Sellers got the call to take his place.

The rodeo is scheduled to take place from June 9th through the 15th in Casper, Wyoming.

WRESTLING CAMP TO BE HELD NEXT WEEK AT POPLAR BLUFF HIGH SCHOOL

Children in Poplar Bluff will have a chance to improve their wrestling skills at a camp next week.

The Poplar Bluff Wrestling Camp will begin at 5:30 pm Monday at the Poplar Bluff High School wrestling room. The event will run from 5:30 pm to 7 pm on June 10th through June 13th.

DONIPHAN POLICE DEPARTMENT TO HOST FISHING CLINIC

A date has been set for a fishing clinic that will be hosted by area police.

According to a post on their Facebook page, the Doniphan Police Department will be holding their annual fishing clinic on June 12th.

Parents can sign their children up for the clinic by contacting the Police Department at 573-996-7123.
