MULTIPLE INJURIES REPORTED FROM TWO VEHICLE CRASH IN BUTLER COUNTY

 

Multiple injuries were reported on Sunday following a two vehicle crash in Butler County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that the crash occurred on US Highway 67 Northbound, half a mile from Poplar Bluff, where a vehicle failed to yield to another oncoming vehicle.

The driver of the first vehicle received serious injuries, and an occupant of the vehicle, as well as an occupant of the oncoming vehicle, received minor injuries as a result of the crash.

They were all transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital for their injuries.

TWO SENTENCED FOR POSSESSION OF FIREARMS STOLEN FROM MULTIPLE COUNTIES

 

Two suspects were taken into custody on Thursday on possession of stolen firearm charges that were stolen from residences in Ripley County.

According to the Ripley County Sheriff’s Department, Kyle King and Sandy Edwards, of Alton, were sentenced after pleading guilty to the firearm possession charges, with 11 of the 20 reported burglaries being reported inside of Ripley County.

King was sentenced to two years in federal prison, and Edwards was placed on a three year probation period.

MALDEN MAN CONVICTED OF BURGLARY AFTER RESISTING ARREST

 

A Malden man was convicted of attempted burglary on Friday by a Dunklin County Jury after attempting to break into a house while resisting arrest.

According to the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Department, 36 year old Xavier Ray, of Malden, was charged with first-degree attempted burglary after trying to break into a house to escape from officials who were attempting to arrest him on outstanding warrants.

His warrants include felony charges of unlawfully receiving public assistance benefits, delivery of a controlled substance, and receiving stolen property.

Ray’s sentencing has been set for March 11th at 10 am.

LOCAL WOMAN ARRESTED ON DRUG POSSESSION CHARGE

 

A Poplar Bluff woman was taken into custody on Friday on a drug possession charge.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 23 year old Vanessa Powell, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested on felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was transported to the Butler County Jail following her arrest.

MAN ARRESTED IN DUNKLIN COUNTY ON METHAMPHETAMINE POSSESSION

 

A man was taken into custody in Dunklin County on Saturday on possession of methamphetamine.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 40 year old Jimmie Tansil, of Senath, was arrested on felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, and a felony charge on possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was transported to the Dunklin County Jail following his arrest.

MALDEN MAN ARRESTED ON DRUG DELIVERY CHARGES

 

A Malden man was taken into custody on Saturday in Stoddard County on drug delivery charges.

According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 38 year old John Matthews, of Malden, was booked on a warrant for delivery of a controlled substance/dangerous drugs.

He was transported to the Stoddard County Jail following his arrest, on a $40,000 cash only bond.
