COMPLEX METH LAB DISCOVERED IN BUTLER COUNTY ON WEDNESDAY

 

A complex methamphetamine lab was discovered in Poplar Bluff on Wednesday by Poplar Bluff authorities.

Butler County Sheriff Mark Dobbs tells KWOC News that a meth lab was located on Wednesday at a residence on Moonstone Lane, in the home of Floyd Martin, after officials conducted a search of the house and found the lab underneath the living room and kitchen.

Firearms and drug paraphernalia were also found, and Martin was taken into custody on unlawful possession of a firearm, as well as resisting arrest.

He is expected to face more charges as the investigation continues, and is suspected of supplying multiple  individuals throughout northern Butler County and southern Wayne County.


RIPLEY COUNTY MAN CHARGED ON POSSESSION OF FIREARMS AND DRUG TRAFFICKING

 

A Ripley County man has been charged on possession of firearm and drug trafficking charges.

According to the Ripley County Sheriff’s Department, John Lovell was charged on felony possession of firearms, as well as possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

Lovell faces up to five years of prison on these charges.


MAN ARRESTED IN BUTLER COUNTY ON MULTIPLE CHARGES

 

A man was taken into custody in Butler County on Thursday on multiple charges.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 39 year old Charlie Highfill, of Qulin, was arrested on a felony charge of resisting arrest, as well as multiple Butler County warrants.

The warrants include charges on possession of amphetamine, larceny, and failure to appear.

Highfill was transported to the Butler County Jail following his arrest.


SENTENCING SET FOR LOCAL WOMAN ON DRUG DISTRIBUTION CHARGES

 

A Poplar Bluff woman faces up to 20 years in federal prison on drug distribution charges.

The Poplar Bluff Police Department tells KWOC News that Amber Wrinkle, of Poplar Bluff, has been charged on distribution of heroin and Fentanyl after pleading guilty to the charges in federal court on Tuesday.

Her sentencing has been set for April 21st, at 11:40 am.


PARAGOULD POLICE ASKING FOR ASSISTANCE IN RECENT SHOOTING

 

Police in Paragould are asking for information into a shooting that occurred on Wednesday.

According to the Paragould Police Department, there was a shooting reported on Wednesday on South 13th Avenue, where a residence and vehicle were struck by gunfire. The department is asking anyone who lives in the area to review any footage you have on security cameras in attempt to find the suspect.

CITY OF POPLAR BLUFF VOTED MOST CARING CITY IN MISSOURI

 

The City of Poplar Bluff was voted the most caring city in Missouri in 2020.

The award was given by Insurify after they reportedly took information from around 2 million auto insurance applications, including the occupations and living conditions of residences.

Poplar Bluff scored the highest in occupants in the fields of caregivers, counselors, paramedics, physicians, and other similar jobs.
