STEELE WOMAN ARRESTED IN PEMISCOT COUNTY ON DRUG RELATED CHARGES

A Steele woman was taken into custody in Pemiscot County on Thursday on drug related charges.

According to the Pemiscot County Sheriff’s Department, 25 year old Ashley Baugus was arrested on unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as possession of marijuana, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and several vehicle related charges.

Following her arrest, she was transported to the Pemiscot County Jail.

MISSOURI TOTAL CASES OF COVID-19 NOW OVER 144,000; ADDITIONAL CASES CONFIRMED IN BUTLER COUNTY

More cases of the coronavirus have been reported in Butler County, while Missouri’s total cases have continued to rise.

According to the Butler County Health Department, 9 new cases were confirmed on Monday, bringing the total number of cases in the County to 1,011.

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reports that as of Monday, Missouri has seen a total of 144,230 cases of the virus in the state, while 2,422 deaths have been directly linked to the disease.

REPAIRS SCHEDULED FOR ROADWAY IN DUNKLIN COUNTY

Repairs will be underway for a roadway in Dunklin County today.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, a section of Route AB, from Country Road 241 to Laclede Street in Malden, will be reduced to one lane while MODOT crews perform pavement repairs on the roadway.

The work is scheduled to take place from 8 am to 4:30 pm daily, today through Thursday.

PARAGOULD MAN CHARGED AFTER SHOOTING VEHICLE WITH CHILDREN INSIDE

A Paragould man was arrested on Thursday after opening fire on a vehicle with children inside it.

According to officials with the Paragould Police Department, 32 year old Jonathan Wright was taken into custody on two 1st degree endangering the welfare of a minor charges, as well as aggravated assault, after he began shooting at the vehicle of a woman who he had previously gotten into an argument with, which had two children inside it when the shooting began.

He was transported to the Greene County Jail following his arrest, on a $10,000 cash only bond.

LOCAL DRIVER INJURED FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH IN BUTLER COUNTY

A Poplar Bluff driver was injured in a vehicle crash in Butler County on Sunday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened on Highway M, west of Poplar Bluff, where a vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver suffered moderate injuries, and was transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital for treatment.

PUBLIC HEARING SCHEDULED FOR CARTER COUNTY

There will be a Public Hearing in Carter County this week for multiple projects.

According to the Ozark Foothills Regional Planning Commission, the hearing will discuss the submission of five applications to the Community Development Block Grant and recovery programs for funding several projects.

These include a funding grant for critical facility generators for the County’s nutrition center, youth and community center, and a medical clinic in the County, as well as a proposition for the upgrading and installation of siren systems, and a few other projects.
