NEW MADRID COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT SEARCHING FOR TWO WANTED SUSPECTS

The New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department is currently searching for two wanted suspects.

According to the Department, authorities are searching for Barry Brown Jr., who is wanted for felony charges of stealing and forgery, and Aaron Cooper, who has an active charge on unlawful possession of a firearm. Pictures of both of them are available on the New Madrid County Sheriff Department’s Facebook page.

POPLAR BLUFF WOMAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN CAPE GIRARDEAU ON DRUG POSSESSION

A Poplar Bluff resident was arrested in Cape Girardeau on Monday on drug possession charges.

Officials with the Cape Girardeau Sheriff’s Department tell KWOC News that 38 year old Nicole Schrum was taken into custody on felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, as well as both a felony and misdemeanor charge on possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was transported to the Cape Girardeau County Jail following her arrest.

ROADWAY IN DUNKLIN COUNTY SCHEDULED FOR REDUCTION FOR REPAIRS

A roadway in Dunklin County is scheduled to be reduced while undergoing repairs.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, a section of Route 62, from Route 25 to Route 53, is set to be reduced to one lane while MODOT crews perform pavement repairs.

The work is scheduled to begin today at 8 am, and is expected to be completed on October 22nd.

POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT LOOKING FOR SUSPECTS

Officials are looking for two suspects in regards to a theft report.

Authorities with the Poplar Bluff Police Department report that the incident took place at a local business, where two people entered the establishment and were caught on video surveillance from the store's cameras. The video is available at the Poplar Bluff Police Department’s Facebook page.

DRIVER INJURED FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH IN PEMISCOT COUNTY

A driver was injured following a vehicle crash in Pemiscot County on Wednesday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened on southbound Interstate 55 at Hayti, where a vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway, causing the driver to eject from the car and into the median.

The driver suffered serious injuries from the crash, and was transported to a hospital in Tennessee for treatment.

WOMAN ARRESTED IN NEW MADRID COUNTY ON WARRANT CHARGES

A Portageville woman was taken into custody in New Madrid County on Sunday on several warrant charges.

According to the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department, 22 year old Destiny Buchanan was arrested on a felony warrant out of New Madrid County on receiving stolen property, as well as a Pemiscot County warrant for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Following her arrest she was transported to the Pemiscot County Jail, with no bond.
