JOE BIDEN CURRENTLY LEADING FOR PRESIDENCY OF THE UNITED STATES


As of this morning, Joe Biden is leading Donald Trump in the Presidential Election.

According to the Associated Press, Biden is currently leading in the Electoral Votes with 238 to Trump’s 213 total votes.

As of this morning, the states of Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia, and Alaska have not been tallied towards the final vote count.

In Butler County, Trump carried 81 percent of voters.


SOUTHEAST MISSOURI LOCAL RACE RESULTS PART 1


Here are the results for local races during yesterday’s general election.

In the bid for Eastern District County Commissioner, Republican Don “Butch” Anderson defeated Democrat Van Rhodes by carrying around 75 percent of the vote.

In Stoddard County, Republican Josh Speakman won the race for Stoddard County Treasurer over Democrat Carla Moore, with Speakman holding over 65 percent of the votes.


ONE OF TWO MISSOURI CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS PASS


Missouri voters approved one of the two constitutional amendments that were voted on Tuesday.

Voters approved Constitutional amendment 3, which amends changes made from Amendment 1 that passed in 2018, including changing how Bipartisan commissions are named and appointed, changing the threshold of lobbyist gifts, and removing the nonpartisan state demographer that was implemented by Amendment 1.

Voters also voted down Constitutional amendment 1, which would have limited the positions of lieutenant governor, state auditor, secretary of state, and attorney general to two terms of office.


REPUBLICANS SWEEP MISSOURI STATE OFFICE POSITIONS


Tuesday was a good day for Republicans in Missouri after they swept the high ranking Missouri State Government Offices during the general Election.

Incumbent Mike Parson won the election for Missouri Governor over Nicole Galloway.

Mike Kehoe will step into the role of Lieutenant Governor with his win over Alissia Canady. For Missouri Secretary of State, John Ashcroft defeated Yinka Faleti.

In the race for Missouri State Treasurer, Scott Fitzpatrick was selected over Vicki Englund, and for Attorney General, Eric Schmitt won over both Rich Finneran, and Kevin Babcock.


VOTING RESULTS FOR SOUTHEAST MISSOURI RACES


Here are the results for Southeast Missouri positions in the United States and Missouri state governments.

Republican Jason Smith was successful in his reelection bid for the United States House of Representatives seat for District eight in Missouri over Democratic challenger Kathy Ellis.

For the Missouri State Senate, in District 27, Republican Holly Rehder defeated Democrat Donnie Owens. In District 33, Republican Karla Eslinger won over Democrat Tammy Harty.

In District 145 of the Missouri House of Representatives, incumbent Republican Rick Francis defeated Democrat Mike Lindley.


SOUTHEAST MISSOURI LOCAL RACE RESULTS PART 2


Here are more results for local races during yesterday’s general election.

In Carter County, a local use tax, which would have been imposed at the same rate of local sales taxes, was denied by voters, with over 65 percent of voters rejecting the tax.

In Ripley County, the election for the East District County Commissioner was won by Republican Gary Emmons, who won over Democrat Gene Buckhanan with over 85 percent of votes. For Ripley County Assessor, Republican Randi Ederer won the seat.

In Wayne County, Democrat Dean Finch won over Republican Woody Massa in the race for County Sheriff.
