AUTHORITIES IN POPLAR BLUFF INVESTIGATING SHOOTING DEATH


Authorities with the Poplar Bluff Police Department are currently investigating a shooting death.

According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, officers responded to a call early Tuesday morning about a shooting at a residence in the 800 block of Valley Street.

When authorities arrived at the scene, they found 30 year old Tanika Trice, of Poplar Bluff, laying in the driveway. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

An unnamed person of interest was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Butler County Jail on unrelated charges, and is pending future charges as the investigation into the shooting continues.

SHIPMENTS OF COVID-19 VACCINE ARRIVING IN BUTLER COUNTY


Butler County will be seeing more shipments of the Moderna coronavirus vaccine.

According to officials with the Butler County Health Department, the first doses of the vaccine were administered to frontline and essential workers in the medical field, and more vaccines are being delivered.

Another shipment of the vaccine will arrive in Butler County today, and will be administered to health care workers who frequently come into close contact with patients.

Officials with the department have put in a request for more vaccines to be delivered next week, though it is too early to know if they will be shipped by then.


POPLAR BLUFF MAN CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE DRUG RELATED CHARGES IN STODDARD COUNTY


A Poplar Bluff man was charged with multiple drug related charges in Stoddard County on Tuesday.

According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 44 year old Gregory Richie was booked on a Stoddard County warrant for possession of a controlled substance – except 35 grams or less of marijuana/synthetic cannabinoid.

Richie is also facing charges on unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was transported to the Stoddard County Jail following his arrest, on a $15,000 bond.


POPLAR BLUFF HOSTING PUBLIC HEARING FOR ROADSIDE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT


The city of Poplar Bluff will be hosting a public hearing about a roadside project.

According to the Ozark Foothills Regional Planning Commission, the hearing will be held at the Chamber of Commerce building, and will discuss the city’s submission of an application for the FY2021 MODOT Transportation Alternative Program grant cycle.

The proposed project involves a 2 mile extension to the city trail system, which will connect it to the Wolf Creek Trailhead on County Road 447.

POPLAR BLUFF MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN BUTLER COUNTY ON RESISTING ARREST


A Poplar Bluff man was charged with resisting arrest on Monday in Butler County.

According to the Butler County Sheriff’s Department, 66 year old Keith Hodge was arrested at 2:20 PM on a felony offense of resisting arrest. He also faces felony charges on persistent driving while intoxicated, and multiple vehicle related offenses.

Following his arrest, he was transported to the Butler County Jail.


ROADWAY IN PEMISCOT COUNTY SCHEDULED FOR REDUCTION DURING BRIDGE REPAIRS


A roadway in Pemiscot County will be reduced while bridge repairs are underway.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, a section of Northbound Interstate 55, from mile marker 18 to mile marker 20 near Hayti, will be reduced to one lane with a 13-foot width restriction while MODOT crews perform bridge repairs.

The work will take place from Monday, and continue through Friday, January 1st.
