FUGITIVE OUT OF STATE ARRESTED IN NEW MADRID COUNTY
A fugitive from Iowa was taken into custody in New Madrid County on methamphetamine possession on Tuesday.
According to the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department, 32 year old Alexandra Crow, of Fairfield, was arrested on felony possession of methamphetamine.
She was transported to the New Madrid County Jail following her arrest.
WOMAN ARRESTED IN STODDARD COUNTY ON DRUG POSSESSION
Authorities in Stoddard County arrested a woman on Tuesday on drug possession charges.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 41 year old Misty Armstrong, of Dexter, was booked on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance, as well as delivery of 35 grams or less of marijuana.
She was also charged on a warrant for possession of marijuana.
Following her arrest, she was transported to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department on a $12,500 cash only bond.
ROAD IN CARTER COUNTY SCHEDULED TO CLOSE
A road in Carter County has been scheduled to close for road work.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, two sections of Eastbound US 60 in Carter County, one between County Road 163 to Route J, and one between County Road 143 to Parson Drive, will be closed while crews perform pavement overlay.
The work is scheduled to take place from March 23rd to April 30th, from 7 am to 7 pm daily.
MISSOURI GOVERNOR VISITS POPLAR BLUFF FOR ANNOUNCEMENT
Missouri Governor Mike Parson made a visit to Poplar Bluff on Tuesday.
According to the Ozark Foothills Regional Planning Commission, Parson visited the Transportation Cost-Share site to announce a $5.7 million award from the Governor Cost Share Program, which will be used to expand Route 67 from Poplar Bluff to the Arkansas state line.
The announcement was made after a conference with MoDOT workers, and the expansion project is set to take place from 2021 through 2022.
DRIVER INJURED IN STODDARD COUNTY FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH
Injuries were reported following a vehicle crash in Stoddard County on Tuesday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Route Z, near Bernie, where a vehicle ran off the roadway and overcorrected, causing the vehicle to overturn.
The driver of the vehicle received moderate injuries as a result, as was transported to a hospital in Poplar Bluff.
PUBLIC MEETING TO BE HELD IN POPLAR BLUFF
There will be a public meeting held in Poplar Bluff in two weeks.
According to the Ozark Foothills Regional Planning Commission, the meeting will be held at the Butler County Courthouse on 100 North Main Street in Poplar Bluff, and will go over the Planning Framework Process, transportation issues, and priorities in Butler County.
The information discussed will be presented to the Missouri Department of Transportation, and the meeting will be held on March 16th from 9:30 to 10 am.
There will be meetings regarding the same topics in Ripley County at the Ripley County Courthouse at 101 Courthouse Square in Doniphan on March 11th, and in Carter County at the Carter County Courthouse Offices on 308 Main Street Van Buren, on March 13th.

THREE RIVERS KIDS DAY SCHEDULED TO BE HELD IN POPLAR BLUFF IN APRIL
There will be a Three Rivers Shrine Club Kids Day held in Poplar Bluff next month.
The event will feature food, games, activities and prizes, and will have participants from multiple area departments. Participants include the Poplar Bluff and Butler County Fire and Police Departments, US Army Corps of Engineers, Poplar Bluff Park Department, and more.
The day will be held at 3102 Kennedy Lane in Poplar Bluff, and is free to the public.
