Butler County Health Officials Confirm 21st Positive Case of COVID-19; Eight Have Recovered

Case Manager and Prevention Specialist Amanda Fitzwater with the Butler County Health Department tells KWOC News, another resident has tested positive for COVID-19.

Local Health Department staff will be monitoring the case and additional follow up contacts will be done. They have already received a list of people from the patients’ contacts.

This patient is self-quarantining at their homes, according to health officials. No other information will be released about the patient.

The health department now reports, there are currently 21 people in the County who have the virus, including 12 men and 9 women. In addition, two patients are currently hospitalized due to the disease and eight have recovered.

The Butler County Health Department is working with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and the CDC, to identify and contact people who may have come in contact with the individuals, while they were infectious and will monitor them for fever and respiratory symptoms.

As of 11 AM on Wednesday, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reports there are 5,111 cases and 152 deaths in the state.
