POPLAR BLUFF POLICE SEARCHING FOR SUSPECTS IN THEFT INVESTIGATION
The Poplar Bluff Police Department is currently searching for two suspects in a theft investigation.
According to the Department, two individuals are currently wanted on felony charges on stealing, fleeing, and assault on a law enforcement officer. The suspects fled on foot after being pursued north of Poplar Bluff on Highway 67. Pictures of the subjects are available on the Poplar Bluff Police Department’s Facebook page.

DOUBLE HOMICIDE REPORTED IN PEMISCOT COUNTY
Authorities in Pemiscot County are investigating a double homicide case.
According to officials with the Pemiscot County Sheriff’s Department, 37 year old Frederick Payne, and 39 year old James McIntyre, were both found dead underneath the carport at a home in Hayti. Authorities with the Missouri State Highway Patrol Drug and Crime Investigation are helping the Sheriff’s Department, and the Hayti Police Department, with the search.
A suspect has not yet been found, and no names are being released at this time. We will continue to follow this story as the investigation proceeds.
DRIVER SERIOUSLY INJURED IN CARTER COUNTY VEHICLE CRASH
A driver was seriously injured in Carter County after a vehicle crash on Friday.
According to officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident took place on US 60, east of Ellsinore, where a driver fell asleep while driving and ran off the roadway. The vehicle went airborne, and struck two trees.
Following the crash, the driver was transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital for treatment.
CASES OF COVID-19 CONTINUE TO RISE; BUTLER COUNTY REPORTS FOURTH DEATH FROM DISEASE
Missouri has continued to see an increase in coronavirus cases over the weekend, while Butler County reported its fourth death from the virus.
According to the Butler County Health Department, as of Sunday, the County now stands at 265 total cases. The Department will be working with the CDC to contact anyone who may have been exposed to the virus while the patients were active and infectious. The name of the deceased will not be released at this time.
In Missouri, as of Sunday, there are a total of 58,927 cases of the virus in the state, and 1,307 deaths have been directly linked to the disease.
If you are showing any symptoms of the virus, including fever, persistent coughing, or shortness of breath, you are advised to contact your primary healthcare provider before visiting any hospital or emergency room.
MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN KENNETT ON ROBBERY AND ASSAULT
A man was arrested in Kennett following an investigation into a shots fired report on Saturday.
Officials with the Kennett Police Department tell KWOC News that authorities responded to a call of shots fired on the 400 block of West Fifth Street, which led to the arrest of 27 year old Dwayne Woods Jr, of Hayti. He was taken into custody on 1st degree robbery, 1st degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, and armed criminal action.
He was also wanted for questioning for multiple prior shooting reports before his arrest.
THREE INJURED IN VEHICLE COLLISION IN STODDARD COUNTY
Three were injured in a vehicle collision in Stoddard County on Friday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling on Missouri 114, at Missouri 153, where it pulled into the path of another oncoming vehicle.
The driver and an occupant of the first vehicle suffered minor injuries, and were transported to a Sikeston hospital. An occupant of the second vehicle was moderately injured, and was transported to a hospital in Cape Girardeau for treatment.
