ADDITIONAL CASES OF COVID-19 REPORTED IN BUTLER COUNTY; MISSOURI TOTAL NOW OVER 63,000

Additional cases of the coronavirus were reported in Butler County, while Missouri’s total cases have risen past 63,000.

According to the Butler County Health Department, four new cases of the disease were reported on Thursday, raising the County’s total to 282. The CDC will be working with the department to contact anyone who may have been exposed to the virus while the patients were active and infectious.

In Missouri, as of Thursday, there are a total of 63,797 cases in the state, while 1,325 deaths have been directly linked to the disease.

If you are experiencing any symptoms of the virus, including fever, shortness of breath, or persistent coughing, you are advised to contact your primary healthcare provider before visiting any hospital or emergency room.

DRIVER INJURED IN VEHICLE COLLISION IN CARTER COUNTY

A driver was moderately injured in a vehicle collision in Carter County on Wednesday.

Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that the collision took place on Highway 60, at County Road 256 in Ellsinore, where a vehicle crashed into another oncoming car on the side.

The driver transported himself to a hospital following the crash.

MILD EARTHQUAKE REPORTED IN NEW MADRID COUNTY

An earthquake was reported in New Madrid county on Wednesday.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake struck just over a mile south of Hardwell, around 8 pm.

The quake was recorded with a magnitude of 2.2.

TWO ARRESTED IN NEW MADRID COUNTY ON DRUG TRAFFICKING CHARGE

Two suspects were taken into custody in New Madrid County on a drug trafficking charge.

According to the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department, 30 year old David Fuller, of Hazel Crest Illinois, and 30 year old Kala Jackson, of Vernon Texas, were both arrested on a felony charge on 1st degree trafficking – codeine.

They were both transported to the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department following their arrests.

INJURIES REPORTED FOLLOWING DUNKLIN COUNTY VEHICLE COLLISION

Injuries were reported following a collision in Dunklin County on Thursday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred when a vehicle pulled into the path of another oncoming car on US 412, at Missouri 164.

The driver of the oncoming vehicle suffered minor injuries from the crash, and was transported to a Paragould hospital for treatment.

ROADWAY IN DUNKLIN AND STODDARD COUNTIES SCHEDULED FOR REDUCTION DURING REPAIRS

A roadway stretching through Dunklin and Stoddard Counties will be reduced while undergoing repairs.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, a section of Route 153, from Route 60 in Stoddard County to Route 25 in Dunklin County, will be reduced with a 10 foot width restriction while contractor crews perform overlay on the roadway.

The work is scheduled to begin on Monday, and is expected to be completed by November 1st.
