AUTHORITIES SEARCHING FOR MISSING DEXTER MAN
Authorities in Dexter are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing man.
According to the Dexter Police Department, 61 year old Robert Watts was reported missing on Monday.
Watts was last seen at a friend’s funeral in the Chicago area and is reported to have checked out of the Ashland Hotel in Chicago at around 2 am Monday.
Watts’s cell phone was left in the hotel room and he has not been seen or heard from since.
He was driving a 2021 Jeep Cherokee, blue or grey in color with the Missouri License of 1SDX32.

DEXTER POLICE INVESTIGATING MULTIPLE THEFTS AT AN AREA BUSINESS
Police in Dexter are investigating multiple thefts at the Gallery and Old Timers Flea Market.
According to the Dexter Police Department, a black male subject, wearing an all-black Nike Jumpsuit, and a black female subject, wearing light blue scrubs, stole an undisclosed amount of money in two separate thefts on Monday.
The suspects were later seen at the Walmart in Dexter where the female committed fraudulent use of a credit device.
The suspects are believed to be driving a silver passenger car.

POPLAR BLUFF NATIVE NAMED ACTING DIRECTOR OF DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES
A Poplar Bluff native will be stepping down from Missouri Governor Mike Parson’s staff to take over the Department of Social Services.
Parson tells KWOC News that his Deputy Chief of Staff Robert Knodell has been named Acting Director of the Missouri DSS. Knodell will resign from the Office of the Governor, effective October 17th, prior to joining DSS.
Current Acting Director Jennifer Tidball will be stepping down from the role to resume her position as Chief Operating Officer of DSS.
POPLAR BLUFF RESIDENTS REMINDED TO NOT PUT YARD SALE SIGNS ON UTILITY POLES
City officials in Poplar Bluff are once again wanting to make sure that local residents are following all regulations regarding yard sales.
Officials are reminding residents that attaching signs to utility poles is illegal. It can damage the poles and the signs often become litter.
The city of Poplar Bluff does not require permits for yard sales and you can find a link to the city’s ordinance for yard sales on the City of Poplar Bluff City Hall Facebook page.
DEADLINE APPROACHING TO APPLY FOR MISSOURI OUTDOOR RECREATIONAL ACCESS PROGRAM
The deadline is approaching for Missouri residents to apply to make some extra money on their property.
The Missouri Department of Conservation is accepting applications through October 15th for the Missouri Outdoor Recreational Access Program.
Officials say the program provides participating landowners with annual incentive payments of $15 to $25 per enrolled acre and financial assistance to improve wildlife habitat on their properties for public walk-in hunting, fishing, or wildlife viewing.
Public use is limited to foot traffic only. Properties must be open one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset.

CULVERT REPLACEMENT TO FORCE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF AREA ROAD
Route AB in Stoddard County will be closed for part of this week as Missouri Department of Transportation crews replace a culvert under the roadway.
According to officials, the closure will be located between Route 25 and County Road 535.
Weather permitting, work will take place today and tomorrow from 8 am to 3 pm each day.
