KENNETT POLICE SEARCHING FOR VEHICLE IN POSSIBLE HIT AND RUN

Authorities in Kennett are asking for the public’s help in finding a vehicle that was involved in a possible hit and run.

According to the Kennett Police Department, a white Dodge Ram 1500 or 2500 was possibly involved in a hit and run accident Saturday night near the Delta Fair Grounds.

The truck will have damage to its right front bumper and/or fender and a picture of the vehicle is available on our Facebook page.

Anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of the vehicle are asked to contact the Kennett Police Department at 573-888-4622. 


MAN ARRESTED IN ON TRAFFICKING CHARGE IN NORTHEAST ARKANSAS

A man is facing a trafficking charge out of Northeast Arkansas.

According to authorities, Richard Hall, II, of Roland, Arkansas was arrested on a Saline County warrant last week in Pocahontas.

During the arrest, police searched Hall’s vehicle and found over $28,000 in cash as well as possible crack cocaine, LSD, and ecstasy.

Hall has been charged with trafficking a controlled substance as well as multiple other offenses.

His bond was set at $250,000, cash only. 

 

WAPPAPELLO LAKE KIDS TO PARKS DAY SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEKEND

The 2021 Kids to Parks day at Wappapello Lake is scheduled for this weekend.

Officials say the free event will be held from 9 am to noon on Saturday at the Bill Emerson Memorial Visitor Center.

There will be a variety of games and activities including an obstacle course, scavenger hunts, nature painting, and more.

TRAFFIC LIGHT AT 5TH AND VINE STREET IN POPLAR BLUFF TO BE REMOVED

A traffic light is set to be removed in Poplar Bluff.

According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, the flashing red lights at 5th and Vine Street have been permanently turned off and stop signs have been placed at the intersection.

The traffic lights are going to be removed, although no time table was given for when it would happen. 

 

LILBOURN WOMAN ARRESTED ON METH AND PARAPHERNALIA CHARGES

Authorities in Southeast Missouri have arrested an area woman on a felony drug charge.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 39 year old Lachrisha Little, of Lilbourn, was arrested Monday night on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.

Little is also facing a charge of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Following the arrest, she was taken to the New Madrid County Jail. 


MULTIPLE POPLAR BLUFF CAMPUSES NAMED NATIONAL SHOWCASE SCHOOLS

Multiple campuses of the Poplar Bluff School District have been recognized by the Capturing Kids’ Hearts Initiative.

School officials tell KWOC News that Lake Road, O’Neal and the Kindergarten Center received the National Showcase School designation from the professional development organization, which trains over 37,000 educators annually.

This is the fifth consecutive year that a Poplar Bluff school has earned the recognition.
