PEDESTRIAN STRUCK BY A VEHICLE IN NEW MADRID COUNTY
A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Sunday in New Madrid County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 54 year old Patrick Keil, of Iowa City, Iowa, was conducting maintenance on the towed unit of a vehicle on Interstate 55 when he was hit by a vehicle.
Officials say that Keil was flown to a Memphis hospital with serious injuries.
POPLAR BLUFF STREET DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES DATE FOR ANNUAL CITY CEMETERY CLEAN UP
Poplar Bluff officials have announced the dates for the annual city cemetery clean up.
The Poplar Bluff Cemetery Department will be cleaning both the City and Woodlawn portions beginning on March 10th, with the project anticipated to be completed by April 1st.
Everyone is asked to remove any flower arrangements, personal items, and decorations that you would like to keep before March 10th.
DONIPHAN GIRLS TO TAKE ON DEXTER IN DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP
The Doniphan and Dexter girls basketball teams will be playing each other for a district championship this week.
The Doniphan Donettes picked up a 70-15 victory Monday night over Perryville in the Class 4, District 1 semifinals.
In the other Class 4, District 1 semifinal, Dexter defeated Saxony Lutheran 52-30. Doniphan will face Dexter for the district championship on Thursday.
Coming up today, Clarkton will be taking on Leopold in the Class 1 State Boys Sectional. In the Class 4, District 1 boys semifinal, Dexter will face off against Doniphan.
FERAL HOG MANAGEMENT OPERATION TO CAUSE TEMPORARY CLOSURES AT MINGO NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE
Mingo National Wildlife Refuge will soon be temporarily closed for feral hog control.
According to the US Fish and Wildlife Service, the refuge will be closed to all public entry for periods of time between March 6th and March 12th so the U.S. Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Inspection and Health Service can conduct an aerial operation to control feral hogs.
This management action will involve a helicopter flying over the refuge with personnel targeting and shooting feral hogs.
For public safety, the entire refuge will be closed to public entry intermittently, with all roads entering the refuge closed.
Officials say that because of numerous circumstances, the actual closure dates have not yet been determined.

GUARDRAIL UPGRADE PROJECTS UNDERWAY ON ROUTE 67 IN WAYNE COUNTY
Route 67 in Wayne County is being reduced with a 16-foot width restriction in multiple locations so contractor crews can perform guardrail upgrades.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the work zones are located from Route 34 to Route K near Lodi and from County Road 307 to Business 67 near Greenville.
Weather permitting, work will take place from 7 am to 5 pm daily through Sunday, July 17th.
CULVERT REPLACEMENT TO CAUSE DELAYS STODDARD COUNTY ROAD
Route F in Stoddard County will be reduced today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews replace a culvert under the roadway.
The section of roadway to be affected is located from Highway 60 to County Road 466.
Work is scheduled to take place today through 2:30 pm.
