FIVE KILLED IN NORTHEAST ARKANSAS WRECK

Five people have died from a Tuesday night wreck in Northeast Arkansas.

Officials with the Arkansas State Police tell KWOC News that a vehicle, driven by 19 year old Jacob Lee, of Manila, crossed over the center line in a curve on State Highway 18 and collided with an oncoming vehicle.

Lee was killed in the wreck, as was a passenger in his vehicle, 40 year old Daniel Spray, of Rector.

Three people were killed in the second vehicle, 58 year old David Davis and 83 year old Thomas Wallace, both of Blytheville, along with 72 year old John Shipley, of Steele.

POPLAR BLUFF MAN FLOWN FROM THE SCENE OF A WRECK NEAR DEXTER

A Poplar Bluff man was injured in a two vehicle wreck early Tuesday morning.

According to authorities, 72 year old Floyd Smith was driving on US Highway 60, approximately one mile west of Dexter, when he struck the rear of a Freightliner.

Smith suffered serious injuries in the wreck and was flown to a St. Louis hospital. 

POPLAR BLUFF FALLS IN DISTRICT SEMIFINALS 

The Poplar Bluff Mules basketball season has come to an end.

The Mules lost last night to Jackson 71-49 in the Class 5, District 1 Boys semifinals to finish the season with a 16-9 record.

In girls State Sectional games last night, Ellington defeated Naylor and Twin Rivers lost to Woodland.

Coming up tonight, the Class 4, District 1 championship games will be held in Dexter.

On the boys side, New Madrid County Central will take on Dexter, while the Dexter girls will take on Doniphan.

MAN ARRESTED IN WAYNE COUNTY ON FLEEING AND METH CHARGES

Authorities in Wayne County have arrested an area man on fleeing and drug charges.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 44 year old Daniel Walls, of Clubb, was arrested Tuesday night on felony charges of resisting by fleeing and possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.

Walls is also facing a charge of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

Following the arrest, he was held at the Wayne County Jail. 

ROUTE 153 TO BE REDUCED TODAY IN STODDARD COUNTY

Route 153 in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform signage repairs. 

The section of roadway to be reduced is located from Highway 60 to County Road 706, east of Essex. 

Officials say that work will take place from 8 am to 4 pm.  

SIGNAGE REPAIRS SET FOR TODAY IN STODDARD COUNTY

Missouri Department of Transportation crews will be in Stoddard County today to perform signage repairs. 

Route 114 will be reduced to one lane, east of Essex, from US Highway 60 to County Road 775 for the repairs.   

Work is scheduled to take place today from 8 am to 3 pm.
