POPLAR BLUFF HIGH SCHOOL EMPLOYEE ON PAID LEAVE FOLLOWING ALLEGED MISCONDUCT 

An employee of the Poplar Bluff High School has been placed on paid leave following alleged misconduct. 

Few details have been made available, however Poplar Bluff R-1 School Superintendent Dr. Scott Dill tells KWOC News, the district is actively cooperating with local law enforcement to investigate allegations related to a breach of board policy, regarding the conduct of an employee at the high school. The safety and well-being of students are of the utmost importance to the district.

BUTLER COUNTY ROAD TO BE REDUCED TODAY 

Route H in Butler County will be reduced to one lane today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs. 

The section of Route H to be reduced is located from Highway 53 to County Road 334 near Qulin. 

Work is scheduled to take place through 3 pm this afternoon.  


AREA WOMAN ARRESTED ON COCAINE CHARGE IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI 

An area woman was arrested early Sunday morning in Southeast Missouri on a felony drug charge. 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 28 year old Samantha Hunter, of New Madrid, was arrested at around 2 am in Scott County on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance for cocaine. 

Hunter is also facing charges of possession of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.


OPEN ENROLMENT SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEK FOR POPLAR BLUFF KINDERGARTEN CENTER 

Open Enrolment is scheduled for this week at the Poplar Bluff Kindergarten Center.

If you have a child who will be five years old by July 31st, you can get them enrolled for the next school year. 

According to officials, open enrollment is set to take place from 9 am to 2 pm Tuesday through Thursday at the 1200 Camp Road campus. There will also be a session available from 4:30 to 7 pm on Thursday. 

Parents should remember to bring their children’s birth certificate, social security card, proof of residency, and shot records.

BRIDGE REPAIRS SET FOR THIS WEEK IN DUNKLIN COUNTY 

U.S. Highway 412 in Dunklin County will be reduced to one lane this week so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can perform bridge repairs.  

The work zone will be located from Route NN to Route U, near Kennett.   

Weather permitting, work will take place today through Thursday from 8 am to 4 pm each day.
