NO INJURIES AFTER BULLWINKLES LOUNGE CATCHES FIRE
No injuries have been reported after an area business caught fire last night.
According to the Butler County Fire Department, the Bullwinkles Lounge caught fire and sustained heavy damage Wednesday evening.
Fire officials say that everyone inside was able to escape safely.
A cause for the fire is under investigation.
DEXTER MAN FOUND GUILTY ON MULTIPLE RAPE CHARGES
A Dexter man will spend the rest of his life behind bars following his conviction on multiple rape charges.
Stoddard County Prosecuting Attorney, Russ Oliver, tells KWOC News that a Stoddard County jury has found Jerry Pierce guilty of four counts of 1st degree statutory sodomy, one count of 1st degree statutory rape, and one count of 2nd degree child molestation.
Piece is mandated to receive life sentences on five counts and also faces an additional 15 years for the remaining count.
A final sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 23rd, where the judge will determine if the jury’s sentence will be accepted or if he will enter a different sentence.
Due to the sensitive nature of the crime and to protect the identity of the victims, no further details were released by the Stoddard County Prosecutor's Office.
MAN ARRESTED IN WAYNE COUNTY ON FELONY DRUG CHARGES
Authorities in Wayne County have arrested a Piedmont man on multiple felony charges.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 28 year old Tyler Haynes was taken into custody Tuesday morning on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance – hydrocodone.
Officials say that Haynes was taken to the Wayne County Jail, where he was later released.
WOLF CREEK TRAIL RUN SCHEDULED FOR APRIL
A marathon run is coming this spring to the Poplar Bluff area.
The Poplar Bluff Kiwanis Club and US Forest Service will host the 9th Annual Wolf Creek Trail Run on April 16th. The Half Marathon will begin at 8 am, while the 6K run and 1.7 mile walk will start at 9:30 am.
Proceeds from the event will go to Kiwanis Bacon Memorial Park.

DEXTER MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN UTV WRECK
A Dexter man was flown to an area hospital Tuesday following a UTV wreck in Stoddard County.
Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that 58 year old Timothy Alsup was driving the UTV on Stoddard County Road 640, three miles south of Dexter, when the vehicle ran off the side of the roadway and overturned.
Alsup suffered serious injuries in the wreck and was flown to an area hospital.
RIPLEY COUNTY PUBLIC HOUSING AGENCY TO HOST PUBLIC HEARING TODAY
The Ripley County Public Housing Agency will hold a public hearing this morning to share and discuss its 5-Year and Annual Plan and revisions to its Administrative Plan.
Officials say the hearing will begin at 10 am at the office of the
Ozark Foothills Regional Planning Commission in Poplar Bluff.
The plan will be available for public inspection and public comments are encouraged.
SACRED HEART SCHOOL TO HOST FIESTA AUCTION
Sacred Heart School’s 25th Annual Fiesta Auction has been scheduled for this weekend.
Officials say the event will be held on Saturday at the Black River Coliseum in Poplar Bluff.
There will be both a live and silent auction and doors are set to open at 5 pm, with dinner beginning at 6 pm.
Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 if purchased at the door. Each ticket includes dinner and two adult beverages.
