ONE PERSON KILLED IN THREE VEHICLE WRECK ON US HIGHWAY 67 

A Sunday afternoon wreck near Greenville resulted in the death of one person.

Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that the wreck occurred shortly after 1:30 pm Sunday on US Highway 67, two miles south of Greenville.

Officials say that a Ford Explorer struck the rear of a Ford F150 before also hitting a John Deere Tractor. After being struck, the F150 then ran off the side of the highway, which caused the driver to be ejected.

The driver of the F150, 56 year old Rhonda Eads, of Clubb, was pronounced dead at the scene by Wayne County Assistant Coroner Seth Deck.

No other injuries were reported in connection to the wreck. 

POPLAR BLUFF MULES BASEBALL TEAM TO BEGIN DISTRICT TOURNAMENT TODAY

 The Poplar Bluff Mules baseball team is traveling to Jackson today for their opening game in the district tournament.

The seven seed Poplar Bluff will be taking on two seed Jackson at 4:30 pm this afternoon in the quarterfinals of the Class 6, District 1 tournament.

Today’s Talk KWOC will have the game for your live on radio, with a video stream also available at MSHSAA.tv. Both will feature the voice of the Poplar Bluff Mules, Frankie Casteel.

If the Mules get the win today, they will travel to Vianney on Wednesday to face the winner of the Fox and Seckman quarterfinal matchup. 

ONE DEAD FOLLOWING MOTORCYCLE WRECK NEAR MALDEN

One person was killed in a wreck involving a motorcycle last week near Malden.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a vehicle driven by a 19 year old female from Holcomb struck the back of a motorcycle on Missouri Highway 25, causing both people on the motorcycle to be ejected.

A passenger on the motorcycle, identified as 58 year old Anita Wyatt, of Bernie, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the motorcycle suffered serious injuries and was flown to a Memphis hospital.

Two people in the first vehicle suffered minor injuries and were transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital. 

MULTIPLE REPORTS OF HAIL FOLLOWING SEVERE STORMS ON SUNDAY

There were reports of hail from multiple communities Sunday during a severe storm system that crossed our area.

According to the National Weather Service, one half inch to one inch hail was reported in Carter, Ripley, and Wayne Counties between 2:30 and 4 pm. 

The storm system also included wind gusts that reached up to 60 miles per hour. 

BRIDGE MAINTENANCE PROJECT SCHEDULED TO START TODAY IN STODDARD COUNTY

Route 25 in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane early this week as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform bridge maintenance.  

The section of Route 25 to be reduced is located from County Road 514 to County Road 524 near Advance. 

Weather permitting, work will take place today and tomorrow from 8 am to 3 pm each day. 

MODOT CREWS TO BE IN DUNKLIN COUNTY THIS WEEK FOR BRIDGE REPAIRS

U.S. Highway 62 in Dunklin County will be reduced this week as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform bridge repairs. 

The work zone will be located from County Road 217 to the Missouri State line. 

Weather permitting, work will take place from 8 am to 5 pm through Thursday.
