JOSH BURSON MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT SET FOR NEXT WEEK
The 13th Annual Josh Burson Memorial Golf Tournament is set for June 18th at the Ozark Ridge Golf Course in Poplar Bluff.
The 4 man scramble tournament costs $75 per person to enter and tee times will be available at 8 am and 1 pm. The tournament will be followed by a dinner beginning at 6 pm at Holiday Inn. The dinner will also have an auction and raffles.
All proceeds will go to the Josh Burson Memorial Scholarship Fund.

NINE SEX OFFENDERS FOUND TO BE NON COMPLIANT IN CARTER COUNTY
Nine sex offenders were found to be non-compliant during a recent sweep in Carter County.
Sheriff Dustin Boyer tells KWOC News that the Carter County Sheriff’s Office recently conducted sex offender compliance checks on all know sex offenders residing in the county.
From the 29 compliance checks conducted, charges were filed against nine people. Eight for failure to register as a sex offender and one for being physically present within 500 feet of a park or playground.
Boyer says that the objective of the compliance checks are to provide public safety, verify registration compliance, and initiate proactive investigations.
ANNUAL FREE FISHING DAYS SET FOR THIS WEEKEND
This weekend is a perfect weekend to go out and fish in Missouri.
Missouri Department of Conservation Officials say that during the Free Fishing Days on June 11th and 12th anyone may fish in Missouri without having to buy a fishing permit, trout permit, or trout park daily tag.
Aside from not needing permits, other fishing regulations remain in effect during Free Fishing Days, such as limits on size and number of fish an angler may keep. Special permits may still be required at some county, city, or private fishing areas.

SCHOOL BUS TEST DRIVE SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEKEND AT POPLAR BLUFF MIDDLE SCHOOL
Anyone who wants to drive a school bus will have the opportunity to take one for a test drive this weekend.
The Poplar Bluff R-1 Transportation Department will be hosting a school bus test drive event on Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm at the Poplar Bluff Middle School.
Prospective drivers must have a valid driver’s license and be at least 21 years old.
Food will also be available along with activities for children.

TWO BUTLER COUNTY ROAD PROJECTS SET FOR NEXT WEEK
Road crews will be conducting multiple projects next week in Butler County.
Route PP in Butler County will be closed from Route TT to County Road 425 on Monday as Missouri Department of Transportation crews replace a culvert under the roadway.
Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Also next week, Eastbound U.S. Highway 60 in Butler County will be reduced as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform bridge repairs.
The work zone will be located between Route DD and Highway 51 near Fisk.
Work is scheduled for 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily from Monday through Thursday.
ALMOST MONTH LONG PAVEMENT REPAIR PROJECT TO BEGIN TODAY IN WAYNE COUNTY
Route B in Wayne County will be reduced with an 11-foot width restriction beginning today as contractor crews perform pavement repairs.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the section of roadway to be reduced is located from Route 34 to Route U near Piedmont.
Weather permitting, work will take place from 7 am to 5 pm daily through Friday, July 8th.
