MISSOURI PRIMARY ELECTION TO BE HELD ONE WEEK FROM TODAY
We are just one week out from voters heading to the polls in Missouri.
The Missouri Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, August 2nd.
One of the big races will be for the United States Senate Seat currently held by Roy Blunt, who announced last year that he will not run for reelection. There are competitive races in both the Republican and Democratic parties to fill the seat.
United States Representative Jason Smith is facing a primary challenge from Jacob Turner for his position in the United States House of Representatives.
There is also a race for the Republican nomination for Missouri State Auditor between David Gregory and Scott Fitzpatrick.
Coming up this week we will be giving you a preview of some of the competitive races that will be decided next week in Southeast Missouri.
NEELYVILLE TO HOST PUBLIC HEARING ON TUESDAY
The city of Neelyville will be hosting a public hearing today.
City officials say that the hearing will be to discuss the past performance by the city in carrying out a Community Development Block Grant.
The grant provided a portion of the funding to rehab or replace grinder stations, lift stations, and manholes, along with rehabilitation and upgrades to the existing wastewater treatment center.
All interested citizens and groups are encouraged to attend the hearing at 5 pm this evening at the Neelyville City Hall.

DINNER TO BE HELD THIS WEEK IN SUPPORT OF LOCAL MAN WHO WILL BE COMPETING IN THE WORLD ARCHERY SHOOT
A cookout will be held this week to help support Josh Miller, who will be competing with Team USA in the World Archery Shoot.
The dinner will be held at 6 pm on Thursday at the Aad Grotto in Poplar Bluff.
Tickets are $40 each and in addition to the dinner there will also be raffles, a silent auction, archery games, and a shooting demonstration.

DONIPHAN MAN ARRESTED ON MULTIPLE DRUG CHARGES
Authorities in Ripley County have arrested an area man on multiple drug related charges.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 23 year old George Wallace, of Doniphan, was taken into custody Sunday evening on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.
Wallace is also facing charges of possession of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
Following the arrest, Wallace was transported to the Ripley County Jail.
BRIDGE MAINTENANCE PROJECT TO BEGIN TODAY IN STODDARD COUNTY
Route 51 in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane over two days as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform bridge maintenance.
The work zone will be located from County Road 494 to South Outer Road 60 near Fisk.
Weather permitting, work will take place from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. both today and tomorrow.
ROAD IMPROVEMENTS CONTINUE IN WAYNE COUNTY
Missouri Department of Transportation crews will be making driving surface improvements today on Route FF in Wayne County.
Officials say the work zone is located from Route U to County Road 380.
Weather permitting, work will take place today from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. During the project, the road will be open to local traffic only.
