ONE FLOWN FROM THE SCENE OF A CRASH IN POPLAR BLUFF

One subject was flown from the scene of a two vehicle wreck in Poplar Bluff.

The wreck occurred Monday afternoon on Ashcroft Road near Ditch Road.

A female subject was seriously injured in the crash and transported by air to an area hospital.

The other driver was checked and released at the scene.

AG CONNECT 2023 SET FOR THIS WEEKEND

Ag Connect 2023 is set for this weekend in Poplar Bluff.

The Ag Industry conference will be held on Friday, January 20th and Saturday, January 21st at the Black River Coliseum.

Friday will feature a variety of workshops and vendors for the Ag industry.

Saturday will have family activities, a dinner, and a question and answer session with legislators and industry leaders.

MAN ARRESTED FOR GROOMING AND INTERNET STALKING OF A CHILD

A man is in custody for the alleged stalking and grooming of a child.

According to authorities, between November 22nd, 2022, and January 1st, 2023, 36 year old Zackary Green, of Paragould, used social media to contact a juvenile female to meet up with him on multiple occasions for sex.

Green reportedly knew that the juvenile was 13 years old.

While being interviewed, Green gave self-incriminating statements to officials.

Green is being held without bond in the Greene County Jail on charges of internet stalking of a child, computer exploitation of a child, and sexually grooming a child. 

 

NATURAL GAS PRICES COULD INCREASE FOR SOME BUTLER COUNTY RESIDENTS

Some Southeast Missouri residents could be seeing an increase to their Natural Gas prices.

According to the Missouri Public Service Commission, Spire

East customers will see the Purchased Gas Adjustment rate change under a filing that takes effect on January 19th.

Spire East residential customers currently pay a PGA rate of approximately $0.71 per hundred cubic feet of natural gas. Under this filing, the PGA rate will increase to approximately $0.78 per hundred cubic feet.

The filing says the increase is to reflect estimated changes in the wholesale cost of natural gas.

Spire East provides natural gas service to numerous Missouri counties including Butler, Iron, and Madison.

 

PAVEMENT REPAIRS TO BEGIN TODAY ON ROUTE 114 IN STODDARD COUNTY

Route 114 in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane as construction crews perform pavement repairs.  

The section of roadway that is involved in the project is located from Route 25 to Clements Street in Dexter.

Weather permitting, work will take place today and tomorrow from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. 

CULVERT REPLACEMENT TO FORCE CLOSURE OF WAYNE COUNTY ROAD

County Road 224 in Wayne County will be closed today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews replace the culvert located at the intersection of County Road 224 and Route C.

Officials say that during the replacement, Route C will remain open.

Weather permitting, work will take place today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
