MULTIPLE EVENTS PLANNED FOR 2023 THREE RIVERS COLLEGE ALUMNI REUNION
Multiple events have been scheduled for the 2023 Three Rivers College Alumni Reunion.
The celebration will begin at 6 pm on February 3rd with the Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet at the Holiday Inn in Poplar Bluff.
There is a full day of festivities planned for February 4th on the campus of Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff, starting with the pancake breakfast at 7 am.
Other events include the opening of the Alumni Art Exhibit at noon, the Alumni Star Award Reception at 2 pm, and an unveiling of a bronze statue of former TRC Basketball Coach Gene Bess at 4 pm.
The day will finish with the TRC Men’s and Women’s basketball teams both hosting Moberly Area Community College at the Libla Family Sports Complex.
MOBILE FOOD PANTRY SCHEDULED FOR TODAY IN POPLAR BLUFF
A Poplar Bluff church is teaming with the Southeast Missouri Food Bank to give away food to Butler County residents.
New Life Christian Church United will be hosting a special one day Mobile Food Pantry today at 3 pm.
The food will be available to Butler County residents on a first come, first served basis. Attendees must show a driver’s license or state of Missouri issued identification with their current address along with a proof of residency.
Only one box will be given per address.
New Life Christian Church United is located at 301 North Main Street in Poplar Bluff.
STUDENT TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AFTER ALLEGEDLY THREATENING SCHOOL STAFF MEMBERS
A southeast Missouri student has been taken into custody after allegedly threatening staff members at their school.
According to New Madrid County R-1 School officials, a threatening social media post was made by a student Wednesday morning, directed towards High School staff members.
Officials say that the student who produced the post has been taken into custody and the situation is being handled.
No further information was released about the content of the social media post.
TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR THE 2023 VALENTINES FOR VETERANS CONCERT
Tickets are available for the 2023 Valentines for Veterans concert in Poplar Bluff.
According to the Wake Foundation, the concert, featuring the Oak Ridge Boys, will be held on Tuesday, February 21st at the Black River Coliseum. Doors will open at 5 pm.
Tickets for the concert are free for veterans and can be picked up at the Black River Coliseum, the VA, or at the Stars & Stripes Museum. Limit four tickets per veteran and you must show a military ID.

PATTERSON MAN FACING MULTIPLE FELONY CHARGES
Authorities in Wayne County have arrested a Patterson man on multiple felony charges.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 45 year old Malcolm Metcalf was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon on felony charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of alprazolam.
Metcalf is also facing a charge of failure to drive on the right side of the roadway.
Following the arrest, Metcalf was transported to the Wayne County Jail.
PAVEMENT RESURFACING PROJECT UNDERWAY IN DUNKLIN COUNTY
Route 25 in Dunklin and New Madrid Counties will be reduced to one lane with an 11-foot width restriction as construction crews perform pavement resurfacing.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the work zone is located from County Road 218 near Malden to Route 84 in Kennett.
Weather permitting, work will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through Tuesday, January 31st.
