OPEN ENROLLMENT SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEK FOR POPLAR BLUFF KINDERGARTEN CENTER
Open Enrollment is scheduled for this week at the Poplar Bluff Kindergarten Center.
If you have a child who will be five years old by July 31st, you can get them enrolled for the next school year.
According to officials, open enrollment is set to take place from 9 am to 2 pm today through Thursday at the 1200 Camp Road campus. There will also be a session available from 4:30 to 7 pm on Thursday.
Parents should remember to bring their children’s birth certificate, social security card, proof of residency, and shot records.

PERSON RESCUED FROM PARTIALLY SUBMERGED VEHICLE IN POPLAR BLUFF
One person was rescued from a partially submerged vehicle in Poplar Bluff last week.
According to the Poplar Bluff Fire Department, crews respond to a vehicle accident Friday morning on G Street.
The vehicle had run into a ditch while trying to turn around and the occupant was still in the vehicle when crews arrived.
The person was not injured and a firefighter was able to get them out of the vehicle.
SCOTT CITY MAN FLOWN FROM THE SCENE OF A UTV WRECK IN WAYNE COUNTY
A Scott City man was flown from the scene of a UTV wreck over the weekend in Wayne County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 41 year old Curtis Dannenmueller was riding a UTV on private property near Silva when the vehicle overturned.
Dannenmueller suffered serious injuries in the wreck and was flown to a St. Louis hospital.
THREE WAPPAPELLO RESIDENTS ARRESTED IN DUNKLIN COUNTY
Three Wappapello residents were taken into custody Sunday evening in Dunklin County on felony drug charges.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 38 year old Jesse Baxter, 18 year old Makenzie Mims, and 33 year old Adam Huff were each arrested on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Baxter is facing additional felony charges of unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm.
POPLAR BLUFF STREET TO BE CLOSED FOR STORM WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS
Crews have closed a Poplar Bluff Street for an improvement project.
According to the Poplar Bluff Street Department, for the next few weeks, the 700 block of Cynthia Street will be closed except for local traffic.
The closure is so construction crews can make improvements to the storm water system in the block.
CITY WATER SYSTEM UPGRADES SCHEDULED FOR TODAY IN DONIPHAN
Doniphan officials say that water system upgrades will be conducted today.
The Doniphan Department of Utilities says that upgrades to the city water system at the Oak Tree Village Complex are scheduled for today, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution while driving near the construction area. Businesses at the location will be under a precautionary boil water advisory until further notice.
