DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME BEGINS THIS WEEKEND

It is once again time for your clocks to spring forward.

Daylight Saving Time will begin at 2 am Sunday morning. Remember to set your clocks forward one hour before you go to bed Saturday night.

KWOC News spoke with Poplar Bluff Fire Chief Mike Moffitt who wants to remind everyone to change the batteries in their smoke detectors this weekend.

Poplar Bluff residents who don’t have a working smoke detector, can contact the Poplar Bluff Fire Department and they will give you one. If you are not able to install them, fire officials will install it for you.

Moffitt added that when it comes to surviving a house fire, early detection is your best defense. Having working smoke detectors will save your and your loved ones life. Moffitt says that he has been in the fire service for almost 27 years and he has never worked a fatal fire where they had working smoke detectors.

Daylight Saving Time is scheduled to come to an end on Sunday, November 5th.
